Kona is a double doodle (half medium F1B goldendoodle and half miniature multi-gen australian labradoodle) and he stopped growing at about 8 months. And the next week, unfortunately, his super-easy-comb-long-wavy soft coat started to change. He became curlier and started to mat a little. Then at 10 months I adopted a sister and their hard wrestling play caused him to become a matted mess within days. I stay on top of it now and brush him out 4 to 5 times a week, and cut his long luscious hair down from 4 inches to 2 inches about 3 times per year. Right after I go down to 2 inches, I really only need to do the long brushing sessions a few times a week. But he has come to enjoy relaxing in my lap while I do it, so it's very pleasant.
His weight stayed at 24 pounds for over a year and just recently bumped up 5 pounds due to a food change, but I'm bringing that back down slowly with smaller portions.
