Long Night of Worry for Nothing!

Yesterday as we were preparing to leave when I let the girls out I noticed Lucy pee like 5 times.  For most of us this makes us think ut oh, UTI in the works here.  When we returned a few hours later there was a large puddle in the middle of the floor in their room.  I knew immediately it was Lucy since I had seen the signs earlier.  First accident in over 6 years so I knew something wasn't right.   Normally this wouldn't have concerned me and I would of just made plans to take a sample to the vet in the morning and get some meds.  However, this is exactly the scenario that played out when Sophie ended up being diagnosed with Lymphoma.  My mind would not stop all night.  Lucy and been turning up her nose at her food the last few meals.  We had to coax her to eat, another issue Sophie had.  So, first thing this morning we headed to the Vet ... I've never been so happy to have a dog have a UTI in my whole entire life.  She had all the same symptoms as Sophie did, but Sophie's came back negative!  So, my heart has stopped racing and I might need a nap this afternoon, and Lucy will start to feel better after a few doses of meds.  I tried to convince myself not to worry, but well, you know how that goes.

Whoever thought I would be happy to hear that a friend's dog has a UTI? 

Whew, kid, you deserve a nap and a glass of wine! Clink!

Wow. So sorry for your grief and heartache the past few days. Certainly, UTIs are miserable, but she can recover. Great NEWS

So sorry you had to have a rough night dealing with the fear and heartache.

Very happy to hear things aren't as bad as you thought.  I have laid with Yogi

at night before just feeling his breathing when I have been worried about him, it's not fun

to have concerns about our babies.  Got to love UTI's ;-)

Thanks everyone.  I was so crazy with worry thinking I could be going down that path again which has always been our worst nightmare.  It was crazy because we already had to go to the vet this morning to pick up Lucy's meds and her shot serum for her allergies.  To think we had to add this on top of that was just crazy.  I'll take it though.  Thanks for all your sweet thoughts.
