Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Just wondering who here allows their doodles on furniture and if you have any rules. My boys love the couches and I have no issue with it except with Jake who uses the recliners as springboards to jump onto his unsuspecting brothers. Ill have to see if I have a picture of him doing this but usually I am telling him not to use the chairs for play. That dog has more energy than a power plant!
The dogs are allowed to be on beds but they do sleep in there crates. I just cannot have 240 lbs of dogs on our master bed at one time while me and hubby attempts to sleep. The kids want one of the dogs to sleep with them but they still have too many toys on the floor that can be chewed.
Yesterday, Mac "found" my bed. I think he looks quite comfy. He didn't want to get off of it but hubby had to move him because Mac was on his side. So he picks him up and Mac decides to do the 63 lbs of dead weight routine as hubby attempts to move him. LOL. I'd love to see pics of your doodles on the people furniture. :)
Here is Mac on the bed for the first time. No problem jumping up to the bed which is pretty tall.

Look at all the sleepy Finns! So sweet!
Because I still live with my parents, Orwell is not allowed on the furniture. They never liked Bonny on the furniture. :( It made me sad, but when I move out Orwell is definitely going to be getting cuddles on couches and beds. I read a lot, so I hope he will take naps with me on my bed.
Jenn your photos are wonderful and it's so good to see Mac so happy! Your Jake cracks me up, where does he come up with this stuff!!
Yes J and J are always on the furniture and beds! I keep a cover on the couch, their favorite place, but I'm so tired of looking at that cover.. I guess it's doing it's thing though so it stays! Jilly has her corner and Jack has his and they like me to sit in the middle. If I mess with them and sit somewhere else, the whole world is wrong and they don't settle until I sit with them! lol Here's one photo that came to mind, my husband and Jack both decided to claim the same spot, Jack got sassy after Tom tried to make him into a puppy pillow. : )
I'm guessing Jack won this round?? Cute :)
Previous dogs were not allowed on any furniture but our bed and it worked! These doodles do not care about rules and are all over our furniture. I try to keep them off the living room furniture because they are ruining it. Of course we have had to resort to putting an ex-pen across the opening to that room cuz the dogs do NOT agree with our rule
I gave my son what I considered a great piece of advice since he was starting fresh with his first dog. My advice was not to let his dog on furniture because he takes his dog everywhere and dogs on furniture are not welcome lots of places. So far this has worked great for him.
This question made me think about a blog I wrote about our new leather sofa :) Yes, we let the dogs on the furniture.

They look so cozy.
No dogs on furniture here. Everyone else's doodles look so clean! My couches are bad enough with kids, I think they would look like they'd been rolling in the dirt if my doodles slept on them. I can only imagine the issues with kids and dogs rolling and tumbling on couches or dogs jumping on kids. I am incapable of keeping a tidy enough house and my couches are already covered with need-to-fold laundry and books and toys, etc. And bed? I like my sleep too much ;-)
But who knows, one day when I've got an empty nest and my dog is not over 30 pounds....
Yes, our 3 dogs are allowed on the furniture including our bed. 3 dogs and 2 adults on a queen sized bed make for one big happy and squished family!
My dogs aren't allowed on the furniture. Once in a while I invite them up on the bed for a "cuddle"...but they are never allowed to get on the bed without an "invitation". I have beds for them all over the house, and they know that's their "place". We had an issue with Murph growling at my husband when he tried to get into bed, and that's when we had to go to the "no bed rule". Murphy is a "pushy" guy who tends to be inappropriately territorial, and he does so much better when he's given clear parameters.
