HELP-My "Standard Doodle" is only 5.5 lbs at 9 weeks! Im a new pup dad and need advice

I picked up my Belle from the breeder Saturday (10/25) and she is sooo small.  She is supposed to be a F1 Standard English Goldendoodle but is only 5.5 lbs.  To top it off I took her to the vet the vet first thing Monday (10/27) and she has tape and hook worms.  She was re-wormed (the breeder swore she was wormed) so that step is taken care of but I cant get her to eat very much.  She is on high quality puppy food-wet and dry.  Any idea or tips as to what to do? I was hoping that she would grow to be a big girl, after all she is supposed be a standard.e to a "standard".  I am very concerned

How much did she weigh at birth? She is adorable. We're you able to meet the parents?

I haven't a clue how much she weighed a birth and I did see her mom who is truly a standard poodle and just pics of her dad who looks to be big.   I know, I know I didnt do enough homework but once I saw her, I just couldnt not take her home.  Ive had pics sent to me every 2 weeks since birth, so she has been my baby girl.

Leo is a mini goldendoodle. He was 5 lbs at 8 weeks. At almost 6 months he is about 20 lbs. His sister is 25 lbs. Adult weight should be 30-40. Did you want a standard doodle? They are 75 or something like that as adults. What are the parents weight? Leo was 50 mom and 13 dad. Very cute pictures!

She is so adorable. Congrats!!!! Lucy is 11 mos old and she is 55lbs. My breeder told me 50/50 any puppy will get wormed even though all the puppies got their shots. It's normal. Lucy had her too. Lucy got her shots when she was 3 mos old after that she is very healthy. Enjoy your puppy. It's so much fun.

She is adorable! Once you get rid of the worms, especially the tape worms, she will start growing and putting on weight! Her appetite will pick up after once the worm meds do their job! Be patient and be careful around the tape worms. Humans can get tape worms. Keep her crate and or bedding clean! If she has a real bad case of tape worms, you may find some on her coat around her bottom! Don't let her in your bed until the worms are cleared up. Keep her in a confined area if you can! You got a good puppy!

The vet said that she had more hook worms than tape worms but I will def keep a lookout for anything suspicious in that area.  She got a sanitary trim, so it might be easier for me to spot.   I am probably over reacting with all of this but I just want her "fat and happy".  But you are so right in that she is completely adorable!  The cutest little personality and cool as a cucumber.  She is so laid back.

It wasn't a doodle, but my mom has a weimeraner and her dog was tiny with worms when she first picked her up. She fed her a lot and gave her the meds, and she's now the biggest of my family's dogs. Hopefully your girl will grow just as well :)

We'll, for one, Belle is just about as cute as they come and she does look healthy. You may end up with a large standard, and then again, you may not. I've told Oscar's story a dozen times, but I'll tell it again :)

We wanted a smaller-than-Lucy doodle for our 2nd dog. Lucy was 55lbs (and 3 yrs old at the time). We were considering a medium size Labradoodle. When I asked Lucy's breeder if she could help with referrals she came back saying she had a small male in her current litter that she didn't expect to get larger than 40lbs. He sounded perfect. Once we went and met him at 4 weeks old we were smitten. Oscar came home 4 weeks later. At his 1st vet visit 2 days later he weighed over 12 lbs, more than Lucy at the same age. He had huge paws and seemed to be ravenous all the time, he just kept growing and growing, I think he topped 40lbs at 5 months or thereabouts. We figured out much earlier that he wouldn't be the smaller dog we had originally hoped for. Today, fully grown, he's 70lbs, much bigger than Lucy. We adore him just the way he is. My point is, big or small, you'll find you'll love Belle however big she gets, or however small she stays. With a face like that, you'll have no choice :)
