We caught two squirrels in a live trap (they have eaten the car wiring and our deck).  The labradoodle and the dachshund went crazy.  I ordered Kate, doodle, in and she stopped looked back and came in.  I was very proud of her.

Good girl Kate!

Good Kate!  Good training, Susan!

Such a good girl!

Good girl!

Go Kate!

Wow!   I dont think my Spud would leave a squirrel.  My fault.  We used to make jokes from the movie, UP about squirrels.  I will never do that again.  He cant control himself when it comes to squirrels.

Good Job

I have to admit after paying couple thousand dollars to sell a car after mice infested it and having our new Durango wires eaten by squirrels i secretly wish at times they would catch them but they are way too fast and smart. Anyway so the live traps. I hope by relocating them they survive. We have mild winters (usually) so they should be ok.

Another test this morning with Kate, Foxy and Finn. Kate and Foxy were outside. Finn started barking. I didn't see anything so I let him out. The dogs were looking in the field and barking at the tree line. I didn't know if it was they were looking at - a branch or deer ears . I was watching and they turned and looked toward the road. I called the three dogs into the house to eat - AND THEY CAME!!! Think mainly because they were hungry.

Not a good picture of frantic squirrels but they have a new home few miles from here.

We have so many that Quincy is immune.  He can tell the difference when cats stray in our yard, or even a bunny, and he flies up the hill.

Good girl, Kate!

Unfortunately, it is deer hunting season and Kate brought home what we think was a tail then later an internal organ.  She didn't want to drop the tail but fortunately left the other part outside.  We don't let people hunt on our property but there is 40 acres of woods and a lot of open land nearby.

Foxy (2007-12/12/2014).

The story of Foxy is that Jen and Bryan wanted a female miniature dachshund on Christmas Eve. They looked in pet store and there was one ad. It was a breeder near Fair Grove. As we drove there I kept thinking this looks familiar. When we arrived I said I think we got our dachshund here Lexi. She looked up her records and found we had got her 12 years previously. Lexi was very health and lived to 18. We have lost Scoshee, Lexi, Isabel and now Foxy in the last 18 months. There were 18, 18, 11 and 7. Foxy was the prettiest dachshund you ever saw. She came to live with us when her little brother, a boxer, was too rambunctious for her.
