Have probiotics on hand if they give you an antibiotic. Hoping for a speedy recovery! Also I made sure my dog came home the same day because no one was there at night. It might be a question you ask your vet.
So oliver had his big boy surgery today.
Doc said it went well, and we're home now.
Couple of things I wanted to get advice on:
He gave us no pain meds - when I asked about it the doc said we probably won't need it and he should be fine by tomorrow.
Since he's been home there have been a few grunts & whimpers and him being restless moving from spot to spot.....he also did not want to walk - I'm wondering how to know if I should give him pain meds?
Also, they gave us antibiotics to give twice daily - I have probiotic pills at home - how do I space those out?
About the probiotics. Be sure to space it out by a minimum of two hours and to give them at least two weeks after you are done with the antibiotics. I am glad the surgery went well! Here's hoping to a speedy recovery. I would say if he is still sore today you cannot at least ask the vet about pain Meds. I knows boys recover quicker.
