Here is another one for you guys. With some doodles, they seem to have a lot of excess skin. 3 of my boys have this kind of flabby skin under their chin, on their sides. I really notice it when I am grooming because I have to be careful when I clip. Where does this come from? Maybe it's just my dogs with these "loose skinned" coats?

I never noticed that mine have this, so I will be interested to follow the thread.

I've wondered this too. Molly has extremely loose skin around her throat and under her ears, Sulley does a bit as well but not nearly as loose as hers. I have to "stretch" her skin when I am combing her to make sure I get at all the hair in that area.

LOL, You know it's almost impossible to ask a question that's not been asked before. I also asked this question way back but I can't find that one. If Quincy ever grows into his skin he'll be the size of a St Bernard.

Haha Donna! I thought the same about Sulley 6 months ago but the skin around his chest and hind legs seems to have tightened. His 68lbs might look like 100lbs but we know how much weight all that hair seems to add!

LOL, Donna, there was a link to your discussion in the first link you provided. Here you go: http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/a-question-ive-not-seen-as...

I REMEMBER!

Don't labradors have that issue?  Not sure about golden retrievers...with that longer hair it's easier to hide perhaps.

Spud has excess skin around his neck.  He is a Goldendoodle f1b

Banjo has lots of folds at the end of his neck, where it meets his body.   He's a goldendoodle.

I posted a similar discussion some time ago about Oscar:

Since then, he's actually grown into his dog suit, somewhat, but the neck and upper back areas are still quite loose. Lucy has what we call, "turkey neck", with loose folds on either side. Otherwise she's quite tight-skinned (lol). I'm also careful when clipper cutting those areas, pulling the skin tight so I don't miss any areas.

Thanks everyone and thanks for the links! Off to read them!

Both of my boys have lots of extra skin on their necks and sides. It's fun to see the skin wobble as they walk. They are English cream goldendoodles, so I'm guessing the skin comes from their English retriever daddy.
