Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I just found this website from a breeder.  I had a labradoodle and a goldendoodle.  Creme Goldendoodle boy passed last Christmas 8.5 yrs (cancer) and Black Labradoodle girl passed a little over a week ago 9.5 yrs old - (cancer).  Needless to say I'm heart broken.

I got a male standard poodle last year after the golden passed. I grew up with poodles and I love them. We've just picked out an adorable white labradoodle girl at a breeder. She's only 3 wks old so I don't get her until mid-February...the waiting is awful. She's SOOOO freaking cute!!!!  I'll post pics when I get her. Her name is  Maggie Mae.

Love reading everyone's stories.

Oh, it looks like I agree with Nancy! LOL

So sad to hear about your loss but a big welcome to you here. We love puppies and will happily wait with you!

So sorry for your loss. We've been there and they live forever in your heart. It'll be fun to see the picture of your new girlie doodle.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your doodles. How exciting to find a little puppy, love the name!

I am very sorry to hear about the losses of your doodles. Welcome to DK, I can't wait to hear more about your precious little pup!

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your doodles but glad you found us here! Welcome to Doodle Kisses.

One silly question. You say she is THREE weeks old but you will get her mid-February.   That would make the puppy too young.   6 Weeks maybe?

Please make sure you do not take her away from her mother and litter mates until at least...the very least, 8 weeks old. I know you are trying so hard to  heal your broken heart but let her have all that time before you bring her into your loving home.

In most states, taking a pup away is illegal.  That law was created for many reasons.   You might search online about the issues dogs have for a lifetime if taken away too early.

Here is one link about Puppies Leaving the Litter and Mother too Soon

Thank you for your patience if I read that wrong  :)

Best wishes on your new baby. Lucky you

This is such an important consideration. I met someone last week who decided to return his eight-month-old beagle to the breeder, because they could not stop him from nipping the elderly dog in their home. The beagle joined their family when he was just five weeks old. This is a behavior that the beagle's mother would have taught him to discontinue in those extra weeks. What a sad and unfortunate situation that probably could have been avoided. I am not saying that I agree with this person's decision to give up the beagle, but I am sharing the story here, to encourage you to wait until your little Maggie-Mae is a few weeks older before bringing her home.
