Did you tell the vet his symptoms? I can't believe he can't get in for 2 weeks when it sounds like he has an eye infection. I would call again and ask if he can be looked at so he can get this cleared up before it gets worse. If the answer is "no".... then I would be looking for a new vet. It is probably just the equivalent to "pink eye" in kids, but it needs to be treated. My doodle had this a while back and it is easy to clear up with an eye ointment from the vet. Hope you can get him in to see somebody soon and his little eye gets cleared up!
This sounds like conjunctivitis ("pink eye") to me. It's definitely not related to food, and unfortunately, there isn't much you can do for it at home if there's an infection. Conjunctivitis needs to be treated with meds.
It's shocking to me that your vet won't try to fit you in to look at an acute condition and expects you to wait two weeks. I would either insist that they get you in tomorrow or find another vet who will.
Absolutely unbelievable that a dog with a probable eye infection does not get an appointment for two weeks! Pink eye is an eye infection that probably needs an antibiotic. I would look for a new vet...
I would get a new vet. Having to wait two weeks is totally unacceptable - not that an eye issue is life threatening, but other illnesses are and waiting two weeks could mean the difference between recovering or dieing.
Does your vet allow/encourage you to send a photo at least?
I love our vet because even if we are on the road, if we have concerns, she welcomes us to send a photo--gets back and fast and has great recommendations. I always wish I could go to my vet instead of my HMO.
