Has your dog ever stole from the pet store??

I like to take Max to the different pet stores around town, we usually walk and it's always a good time for him and I. I took him today to the local petvalu which was having a charity event for a local rescue group. I was waiting to have his picture done and he stole a treat! It was only a 45c cookie (and I did pay for it) but he's never done that before, he's sniffed but not taken. My little jailbird doodle. As we were standing in line to pay for the stolen cookie he kept trying to shake paws with the guy behind me who had bully sticks in his hand. What a ham he is. Has your doodle ever stolen from the pet store?

Last month I brought Sulley and Molly into a pet store after a doodle romp to check out coats for Molly.  I thought they would be too beat out to give me much trouble.  Wrong!  Sulley ended up grabbing a netted bag of garlic beef sticks and wolfed one down before I could grab him!!  So I bought a bag of $20 treats which I am doling out very sparingly.  They must have been extremely tempting because they were up a couple of feet above him and he ignored all the other treats around that were at nose level and not in any packaging!

Deanna I think I know what treats you are talking about. The one pet store we go to has those garlic beef treats in a netted bag too and Max is always checking them out. I will have to be very watchful of those!

Sulley just wanted to get himself some garlic beef sticks lol! That is too cute. :)

Yes, Tara made off with a treat once!! And she was a mini puppy so you know how low to the ground the basket  had to have been!! I call it entrapment!!  Or maybe a good way to pad the sales total for the day! At any rate, we paid them off and there was no arrest!

In my town there is a facebook group that you can join called D.O.G.S which shows all the local charity events that are coming up to do with animals and pretty much anything to do with dogs. I also watch the local humane society site and the two pet photographers that I know of in town I watch their sites which will say when they're going to be doing any type of event.

Thanks for the info. I doubt I have a local group like the one you mentioned, but I am subscribed to local animal shelter groups - so I will keep an eye out for pet photo charity days. :D
