Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi all. We've had the amazing Lucky for exactly one week now. He is 9 weeks and F1B goldendoodle with a curly coat (or, I'm told it will be curly...I suppose it is going to change since he is so young).
I've been trying to research what brushes to use on him, and I keep seeing Les Poochs recommendations (both here and elsewhere on the web), but they aren't available right now. What type/brand would you recommend using on him right now?
Also, what kind of puppy shampoo should I be looking for?
Thanks all. :)

Hi,
I have an ALD that has a wavy fleece coat. I read about Les Poochs also...but haven't gotten it yet. My breeder recommended the one I have linked here. It's very inexpensive but frankly, it works VERY well. Hadley must love it because she happily gets in my lap when I get down on the floor with the brush. She rolls in every direction while I brush her. Quite funny. Anyhow, It's a great starter brush and it can't hurt to have an extra one around even if you buy the Les Poochs brush.
I figured, IF I buy the Les Poochs brush, I'll keep the Hartz brush in the car for those times when I may need it while out in nature and leaves and sticks get in her fur. I can brush her clean before getting back into the car ;)

I use the Activet green brush on Pickle. He has a wavy fleece coat.
LesPoochs are now called Activet. They are pricey but well worth it. Most likely the green one would be one to use for now. I use the single width for both of my doodles because the single is easier for my old-lady wrists. We went to the purple one when Ned got his adult coat, but we have gone back to the green. We also use the red mat zapper.
