I thought some of you might enjoy a peak at Nepal through the images below. In the short time I had for photography, I focused mostly on candid "street shots." Unfortunately overcast skies kept the beautiful mountains and landscapes of Nepal out of view.
These are large files severely compressed by DK, and so you will need to click on each image to really see.

F, thank you. It was a hard trip, for sure, and I arrived home with a horrible cold. As I am sure you know, Nepal is a very poor country, heavily dependent on seasonal tourism (trekking and Mount Everest). It is ethnically diverse, and the dominant religions are Hinduism and Buddhism, with peacefully coexist there. Its main challenge has been political instability. I was able to hook up with a really great photographer, Mani Lama https://www.facebook.com/manilamaphotography, while I was there and who took me to the village where I took most of these image.
I have several friends who have been trekking in Nepal or on retreats; your photos are lovely and give me
another window into that beautiful, albeit poor, country.
Not only did I just leave my world but it meant more because I know you. Or, was it the fantastic photography? I have no idea but I came home to see these again before I said anything here.
Wow. Suburb, DJ.
Thank You!
Oh I am so glad you enjoyed them, Joanne!! Thank you!!
OMD! These pictures are wonderful and much more beautiful than the landscape. Each and every one you shared is absolutely perfectly composed in both clarity and artistry. Wow!
Nancy, so glad you enjoyed them. The beauty of digital photography is that you can delete hundreds of bad shots :)
I am the master of delete!
Ooohmygosh! First of all, you were in Nepal? Second, these are amazing! Like National Geographic amazing!
Thanks, Camilla. The location where I took these photos was perfect--walls, doorways, pillars abounded to help frame interesting images.
What an absolutely wonderful collection of images, especially the people shots which are really superb...
