Post spay....
Bonnie was spayed on Thursday, and her hernia fixed at the same time. She is only 5 months but we went for the early spay as her hernia was not improving and then it was just the one op.
The op went well and she was fine afterwards, except she vomited in the night. The vet said it was probably just the an anasthetic, and wasn't worried. The next day she was a little quiet, for her, but the day after that......oh boy!
The vet said she is to be kept quiet, short leash walks only, no beach, water or sand (I live ON a sandune at the beach....) no rough play etc etc. trouble is Bonnie has not read the memo! Today she has walked (on the leash) for an hour. Since we got home, she has tried to follow the cat up a tree, chased leaves all around the garden, bounced all over 18 year old son in an attempt to get him to play with her, dug a hole in the garden (sand!) and spent almost an hour pouncing on sun shadows.....
Right now she is happy with a new chew and that is keeping her quiet, as long as she can be beside me.
On the good side she shows no interest in her stitches and so we don't need the cone of shame!
And we have 2 weeks of this! Agggghhhhhhh.....

Haha, she is a busy girl. Annabelle loves to pounce on the sun shadows, but is scared to death of the moon shadows. She barks and growls at them then hides behind me. We have a 3 story house and it was hard to keep Annabelle from wanting to go up and down all the stairs. I carried her for the 2 weeks up and down them. I was so glad when that whole thing was over because she is also an active little girl. She was ready to get back to her regular activity after the 3rd day. Annabelle also vomited for 2 days. We think it was her anitbiotic that caused it.

Golly....3 story house! You must have been exhausted! At least we have no stairs. Ours is a little wooden beach shack, tiny but worth it for the 20 miles or so of sandy beach on the doorstep.
Bonnie normally spends much of her time chasing seagulls....she thinks it isn't fair because they can fly, but she's practicing flying too, and she's sure she will manage it one day! Now she can't understand why she can't go on the beach :( -

Stuff a kong with PB, or whatever, and freeze it! It occupies Loki for hours and that meant he was just laying there focused on that not running around like a crazy dog!
