He sure is a cutie. My guess is more retriever since he is 3/4 retriever and 1/4 poodle.
He's very cute and although I think I see a little wave on his ears, its still too early to tell. But as Amy said, chances are with the percentage of Retriever, he's likely to be more retriever looking. Send pictures as he grows so we can all see how he transforms?
Josie is the same, 3/4 retriever and 1/4 poodle, she's 3 years old now. She looks like a miniature retriever with finer features. She sheds but I don't think as much as a full retriever. Her hair is so much softer and finer too.
Murph is adorable....I have a Murph too! I'm thinking based on how he looks right now he'll favor his Mom and look more like a Golden. That's definitely not a bad thing....I had a Golden Retriever who was one of the best and cutest dogs ever!
Yes, he is very cute. I would agree with the others that he will probably look more like the retriever side. He probably is a shedder, so you will not have to worry about the coat change per se and that is not a bad thing, as I believe those that do shed possibly have an eat coat to manage. Enjoy your cute little doodle!
So, would that be 25% poodle and 75% golden retriever? Usually the F1bs are the opposite - 75% poodle and 25% GR. I would also say more retriever with longer, straighter hair. Post photos so we can follow his progress. You will probably have a little more shedding than most golden doodles, but not necessarily. Anyway, enjoy. He is a cutie. Beautiful eyes!
Welcome to DK.
I think Murph will grow up to be handsome, awesome, and he will own your hearts. How can a dog named Murph ( my nickname and maiden name) be anything else.
