Proviable pills

I am a nervous reck. Morgan ate 4 of the proviable pills. Should I call a vet? I had them on the back of the counter and she stole them from there. I was in the room with her. She ran behind the couch so I knew she was up to no good. What should I do? I ran her mouth under the bathbub faucet to rinse her mouth out and rinse off her legs.

Did you induce vomiting? You can do that with hydrogen peroxide and water. I don't know the exact ratio but you can look it up online.

Oh, those are probiotics. I wouldn't worry about that.

I wouldn't worry at all. Worst case, she'll have looser stool, but overall I don't think you can OD on probiotics!

Relax, they are just probiotics. They won;t do any harm at all. 

To give you an idea of how safe they are, each Proviable capsule contains 5 billion live cultures. If she ate 4, that's 20 billion live cultures.

My guy has a serious digestive disease and takes a human probiotic, VSL3. Each capsule contains 112.5 billion live cultures. He gets 2 a day, for a grand total of 225 billion. That 20 billion isn't going to hurt Morgan one bit. 

However, it would be a good idea to keep everything off the counters and out of Morgan's reach now that you know she's a counter surfer.

In fact, 6 ounces of yogurt has 18 billion live cultures, and you wouldn;t panic if she'd eaten that, lol.:)

I would think it is not a problem at all. It is just normal gut bacteria.
