Abby Earned Her CGC!

After many training classes and so much practice, Abby has earned a CGC certificate. It has been a tough road with her but we were able to overcome the challenges and pass the test. I am so proud of her.

Hi Chris, Thanks so much for mentioning that training Abby for the CGC was difficult, but ultimately successful. My Belle is like the little girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead: when she is good, she is very very good (and so sweet and funny), but when she is bad, she is horrible!  As I am describing in more detail in a separate post to the training group, some things she has learned so easily, like sitting at the door and waiting to be released to go outside after me.  Other things, however, she seems to learn for a few weeks, then all of a sudden she unlearns them - simple things like down and stand!  Persevering is easier knowing you and Abby worked through the frustration and accomplished your goal. Congratulations to you and Abby.

Andrea, I remember the first session of our CGC training class, Abby would not stand OR sit. She only wanted to lie down. We worked on that constantly for a week and by week two, she stood and sat perfectly. I knew she could do it was she learned I wasn't going to give in. That was a breakthrough for us and after that, Abby progressed well. Belle will learn what you expect from her and what brings rewards. Good luck to you.
