For those of you who don't know, we acquired Jade just last week. She has an older sister, Gracie, who just turned a year old and an older brother, Barkley, who is 9.
Jade is being crate trained as did her siblings. However, when we got Gracie she slept through the night after the first 5 days. Before that I had only taken her out once during the night.
Jade is not doing the same. I was hoping she would just magically be trained from day 1. Lol jk!
Jade gets up at least every two hours. I'm so exhausted that I've resorted to going to bed at 9 pm. I do figure the first time is my fault since I'm going to bed so early but was hoping after the 11 pm trip she would sleep at least until 5 am. But, that is not the case.

Also during the day she does fine in the crate if I'm home and we stick to the routine:
Get up 6 am (or earlier)
Go out
Eat
Go out
Play for about 20 min
Go out
Play for 15-20
Go out and then get crated.
She will sleep for about an hour and then I will take her out, walk her outside, play for awhile, go out again, repeat play and go out (which gives her about an hour out and an hour in her crate.)
I repeat throughout the day until bed time.

Since Gracie is a year old she frequently wears Jade out with wrestling. So, she should be quite exhausted.
If I let Jade cry through the night, I'm afraid she will wet herself because each time I take her out she at least urinates. The other reason is because if she's crated for longer than an hour, she will urinate too - even if she emptied herself before being crated.
The magical number of one hour per month is not working for her. I don't leave her in there when we are home, but like today we went grocery shopping and (well she also snuck out because I didn't latch the crate lol) she wet in the crate even under the 2 hour mark.

So, any suggestions? There is no bedding in her crate so she's not wetting that. I do clean with an enzyme cleaner. I also clean her up if she wet on herself. Do I let her cry it out a few times at night?

I know she's still a baby, but I've read it's really bad for them to pee in the crate. I'm not stressing this time around like I did with Gracie. She did tinkle a few times in the crate, but it wasn't the same as what Jade is doing and even though I fretted over it, it was fine.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention that I also feed her in her crate.

Those early days are challenging!  Are you taking up her water by 7:00 pm.  I would stay up till 11:00 pm to take Finn out.  Then set my alarm for every 2 hours for a week or so whether or not he was whining.   Then I would just wait for him to whine- it took him awhile to make it for several hours at night.  He also  had a few accidents in the crate when left for 1.5 hours during the day.  I did what you are doing- scrub the crate with enzyme cleaner.  He also needed a bath or two. I'm sure you will notice a big change in a couple of weeks.  He is 6 months old and sleeps at least 8 hours per night! Good Luck!

Yeah, she has her water limited in the evenings. I know she would like more so I do give her an ice cube to get by - but nothing past 7pm.
This is good to hear, I know she is different than Gracie - just was hoping it was the other way. Lol Gracie did have accidents by the door while trying to get her out the door, so this is a plus with Jade as she is not in a hurry to go tinkle. ;)
No advice, just cyber hugs.
Thanks!
Sounds like my two are just like your two! Loki was a breeze, he whimpered a little his first night and Moose had me up every two hours until 3 1/2months. I started buying fresh patches, it's grass that doesn't need dirt that is auto delivered whenever you need. There's a small size and I put that in the corner of his crate. I got my first one when he turned 3months and he would use that to pee on. I know it's not good to have them pee in their crate but for me personally it didn't cause issues because it was grass not a pee pad, honestly I don't know but in a sleep deprived moment at 4am after 3 other trips out that night I said "screw this!" And ordered it. I work full time and really needed to start getting some good or atleast semi decent sleep! I only used them up until 4 1/2 months, so basically I had three deliveries, and from there he had one pee accident the first day there was no fresh patch and after that he was fine. I'm sure there are lots of people that would not agree with this but Moose was the same as Jade in that everytime I took him out he would pee so everytime I heard noise I felt like I had to let him out.

On another note have you had her tested for a UTI? If I hadn't had a puppy that was a never ending pee-r that would be my first thought.

Good luck and hang in there! For me having the fresh patch there let me sleep and I didn't see any regressing I'm Moose's potty training other than one accident when I took it away. Moose and Loki have never had any bedding in their crates, they hate it and Moose would shred pee pads at the breeders house so for us this was a life saver!
Good advice. I haven't had her tested as of yet. She's not as bad as Gracie was when she was a frequent pottier during the day, but at least Gracie slept through the night. Lol.
Some days I couldn't get Gracie out the door or out the garage door and had to clean up her piddle. So far so good on that front with Jade.
It is interesting to see how different they are.
Have you tried limiting her water? I gave at meals and then ice cubes in btw to get it under control. I also think you shd try more crate time in the AM to get her more used to being in there and trying to stretch out the time in btw wettings. GL!
I do limit the water. I am also trying to stretch out some of the times. I just don't want to clean up messes. Lol

Thanks!
Maybe her crate is too big? Bogey was having some accidents in his crate and then they stopped once I put the divider. I thought his crate was small enough but I ended up halving it with the divider. He was able to still turn around and lay down.
She's got the divider, just enough to lie down and turn around. No more. She doesn't even have access to half of the crate - she's got more like a 1/4 of it! She lies down right in her urine too. :(
I'm hoping it changes in a few days.
I do know she has a certain cry that means she wants to go now. When she pees in there it is usually when we have stepped out and it's not always a full hour.
She has gone to the door a few times when she has free time in the kitchen/dining room. So she is getting the idea when she's not crated. I do have a theory that she just doesn't like being alone so she pees due to anxiety. I don't know. But, thanks for the input!

I am sure it will get better, but am wondering where she came from - more what kind of environment was she in?  Was she in a crate 24/7 with the mom, so that peeing whenever and wherever  might just be what she considers normal?  If so, it might take a little longer for her to 'get' the 'hold your potty' and 'pee outside' idea.
