Here it is...the dead of winter. But the cold Midwest weather has abated for a couple days. Yesterday it was in the 50s. Today it'll be in the 60s. Tomorrow it's going to be 75 degrees. Yay! This means my girls can play outside, for a change. Except for our "senior citizen", Suzy, the girls love playing and romping in our yard. Penny will get to release all that puppy energy. And I can play fetch without worrying about wrecking my inside furniture. LOL! But with the snow melting, it's becoming very muddy outside. Yesterday, Penny looked like a different breed of dog. Black muddy face, 4 black feet, black tummy, and she even had areas on her back that were muddy. But I'll take a muddy puppy any day over a frozen winter day. I was able to walk Penny, yesterday, without freezing my patootie off. So hooray for warmer weather! I feel I should give thanks for our little taste of spring.

I live in Southern California, so obviously don't have your winter weather.  We had a heat spell recently also - 90's, so shorts came out. The dogs loved the hot sunshine. They don't like it day after day in the summer but welcome as a break from the 'usual.'

Why don't you rub it in about your 90 degrees? LOL ! You see, even 75 isn't high enough for me...I want your hot weather. The hotter the better, for me. :-). Our dogs are picky about going outside if it's too cold and if it's too hot. They balk at just going out to do their business. Dogs! God bless them!
We are in the Midwest, but not getting quite that warm. The mud is no fun when it gets tracked back in.

I bought some dog wipes so that we can wipe paws when they come in. If it's really bad they get a paw bath. Paws are dipped in a container of warm water and then dried off with a soft cloth.
We have a bunch of old towels (aka "dog towels") that we keep by the back door. I have 12 paws (3 dogs) to clean. Penny doesn't like me wiping her face but I have to, since she makes a habit out of submerging it in the nearest muddy hole.
Same here. I use the wipes mostly in the fall due to allergies. But, yeah. 3 dogs = 12 paws. Lol
Today our high is 58 and super windy. I doubt we will be out much.
Our high today was actually 77 degrees. But with high winds and low humidity, it didn't feel that warm. I'll take it, though! But that created another problem here. Our dog, Lexi (lab mix) hates storms and high winds so she's been afraid to go outside all day. She associates winds with storms and that's why wind bothers her. Suzy and Penny ignore storms and wind. Penny has only seen one thunderstorm since she was with our family, and she noticed the noise of thunder and took notice of it but it didn't scare her. I tell ya, our girls couldn't be any different from one another. Just like real siblings.
