This makes me so sad and really scares me--I also live in a rural area not far from this poor woman and never lock my doors--robberies, especially in broad daylight and involving guns, are unheard of--but things are changing everywhere--due to the increase in heroin addiction for the most part--and maybe it is time to start thinking about security. These poor dogs never had a chance.

So sad for the woman who lost her 2 beautiful dogs. What an awful thing to come home to. I am still reeling for the baby dolphin from yesterdays news.

me too--that was awful.

The baby dolphin video made me ill too but I can't get this out of my head.  That poor woman./family. To a lot of us it would be like coming home to find your children murdered. I think the punishment should be the same.

So very sad.

This is just heartbreaking.

This is so horrible.

This would be hard to recover from for sure. How tragic. I hope they catch the person/s who did this. But then again, Karma is always out there.

This is beyond sad.      To have your home violated like that.....and then to have your heart shattered.....

This has to be one of the worst things that one could arrive home to. And having taught so many children - many of whom do not turn out to be model citizens, makes it worse.  Now she wonders if it was personal.  What a shame.

Oh gosh, I teary eyed reading this. It's so sad and heartbreaking :(

Awful, just awful.

The local businesses have offered a $12500 reward for information leading to the capture of the robber and there is legislation proposed in the state legislature to make killing a domestic animal during a robbery punishable by an additional two years in jail. People here are very upset abut this. Money is being donated to increase the reward for information.
