F1 Standard Poodle + Golden Retriever = Doodly?

Hello!  We are now joyful owners of an 8 week old puppy!  Mom was F1 Standard Goodendoodle. Dad was Golden Retriever  (not Standard Poodle.)   Does anyone else have this same mix?  If so, how's the shedding? Do you think he looks "doodly" at all?

I don't have that mix, but your pup looks more doodly than I was expecting with that mix. He sure is a cutie.

Off the top of my head I can't think of a pairing of this combination, but he looks adorable.  Looks like he will be very doodly, but I'm going to guess will shed just like a Golden Retriever.

He is adorable! He does look very "Doodly". You can see the fur on his face and between his eyes. I have friends that just got this same mix and their puppy looks very fluffy as well. I know I have read a few others with that combo, its just not the usual combination because most people are wanting more poodle to help with the shedding.

OMD!!! He is adorable.  This is not the pairing most breeders would make. Most often with this combination - essentially 3/4 retriever, you have a more retriever look, but this little one looks like might have a very doodle look. I would assume lots of shedding is in your future.

Ohh how adorable! I love when someone breeds an F1 back to a retriever! Hardly anyone ever does that!!! I would think he would look more golden-ish but he actually has a lot of the facial furnishings and "doodle beard" makings that a doodle has! He could very well be doodle-y! Send more pics!

Diann~ your puppy is so cute and has facial furnishings.  I often wonder why some breeders breed their doodle back to a retriever.  It seems like this would defeat the purpose of non-shedding. Does anyone know the through process behind this type of breeding?? Just curious.
