I've got the Andis Super AG2 clipper - wondering what combs to get for it?

I bought this clipper about 3 weeks ago before Jade got sick and have just got around to using it. I didn't buy any combs or other blades for it. I was planning on using the combs I have for an old Wahl that I had used on Barkley years ago. I quit using it because it pulled his hair. But, I think it must have been a really cheap version because the combs do not work with the Andis. I was also planning on using the combs to save a little money until I got some other ones or different blades. I'm a little nervous using blades only.

The Andis came with the the #10 blade. I used it a little on Barkely because I wanted to try it out and I wouldn't be as sad to make a mistake on Barkley, he's gone through so many different looks. Mostly due to me pre you tube. ;)

I then decided to just trim certain areas on Jade and Gracie, but to scissor cut the rest that needed to be done. On Jade it was the whole body. She did awesome with it - I just bribed her with treats! There are spots that are needing some trim work and I didn't get all of her paw pads trimmed, but all in all she looks good.

Her hair was at least 4" long and I trimmed her down to probably 1.5". I would like to keep Gracie at about an inch as I don't think her hair will grow much longer, she just needs to be trimmed up. So, if you have an Andis clipper or have ideas for which blade or combs I should use please let me know.

You did an amazing job! They look wonderful! Cute as can be! I should be asking you for advice, but since you asked: I don't use combs. I did use the 3 3/4 skip blade to clip my guys to about one inch...maybe a little longer. I clip them with a 4FC now that they go into the ocean every week. That is pretty short. I am sure you will get some good advice about combs. Enjoy grooming your pups.

Your crew looks pretty darned good! Nice job! Comb attachments are standardized for most clippers out there, with the exception of trimmers, which are smaller. Maybe your old Wahl was a trimmer? Anyway, I use Wahl stainless steel attachment combs and I'm pretty happy with them (the kind that clip onto the blade). I have the set of 8 that come in a plastic case. I keep my 2 doodles pretty short (I use most all of the combs for different parts of their bodies).

That could be why the combs don't fit? Or it's because these are just standard plastic with no adjustment (like I've seen on some of the combs?)
Do you have an Andis?
I have read good things about the Wahl stainless steel combs, just want to make sure they will fit the Andis.

I'm sorry I never saw your post (and question) back in April, but am just now seeing it. Yes, I have an Andis ProClip Super 2 Speed AGC2. The Wahl Stainless Steel clip-on comb attachments work great with it.

I have an Andis Ultra edge, two speed and i just use a basic set of clip on combs that I bought on Amazon.  Each set says what type clippers they will fit.  I always use a comb because the blades get so hot so quick and with the combs I can keep going.  As long as they are brushed out, the combs lwork great.  You should easily be able to keep these lengths of your gang with combs.  I cut AnnaBelle shorter this week for the first time.  I used a 5/8th comb on her.  Normally I would use a 1" or 1-1/4 inch.  Great job on all of them by the way.
