For a small town romp, we did pretty darn well!  I'm sure we had 30 doodles over the 2 days of the romp, though not all 30 joined us at the same time.  We had participants from as far away as Ohio (Ann and Mike with Sheba & Duke, etc) and California (Nancy, Jennie, & Jolene) and British Columbia, Canada (Leslie & Icky)...so really we turned into an International Doodle Romp!

Pre-Romp Dinner
We didn't manage to round up everyone who arrived early, but a few of us met up the night before the romp for a dinner out.

Romp Day 1

It was a beautiful first day!  Warm and sunny with about 24 doodles!

Around noon we walked over to the neighboring park and enjoyed a picnic lunch together.

Romp Day 2

Day 2 brought several new doodles we hadn't met the day before. The wind was strong, but we were stronger!

After the romp, we met downtown for a Doodle Parade.

And we ended with lunch out with all of us who were left

Once our rompers get home I'm sure we'll have tons more (and better quality) photos to document this fun weekend, but in the meantime here are some more: http://www.doodlekisses.com/photo/albums/walla-walla-doodle-romp

Hope those of you who missed it this year will be able to join us if we repeat it in 2017 or 2018!

Have a great weekend!

Orwell and I had so much fun meeting everyone. Hopefully next year we can stay the whole time. :)

Yes, you were arriving when I was just leaving.  I hope to see you next time and have more time to talk.  Orwell has grown up to be a very handsome doodle.

I will be there next time. :) It was still good to see you, Charlie, and Beau however briefly it was. They seem like sweethearts.

What better place to plan the "East Coast Romp" than "DoodleTown ... It is in NY.

Haha, love it. A lot closer to to me. A 20 hour rt drive is much better than a 68 hour one.

Tonight as my kids were getting ready to brush their teeth I heard:

4.5 year old "It was a doggy loving day!"
and 6.5 year old "I just love dogs.  All kinds" and started listing of a few breeds she knew.
We spent this afternoon and evening with Nancy and crew and Ann & Mike and crew and my kids loved it.  We grown-ups did too but it was so cute to see my kids enjoying everything.

Aw, your daughter reminds me of me when I was that age. I pestered my parents since the age of 3 for them to get me a dog and I even did a bunch of research on all the AKC recognized breeds.

A good gift for her may be the new AKC breed standard book if her birthday or something is coming up.

I love this book myself.

I love this....."A doggy loving day"!  What a perfect way to describe it.

Looks like a great time.  Thanks for the pictures,

What a beautiful sight to see so many doodles together. Great pictures! Glad it was such a huge success.

We aren't going to decide YET.  But if we did it in 2017...would anyone consider making the drive that didn't come this year?  I imagine most people won't be able to come annually.  Doing it annually may bring different DK'ers or might only bring DK folks every other year.  Having DK friends to visit with made it the most fun for me and Clark.

I would never go that far west. It would have to be around Chicago or somewhere near there for me to consider it. For one my husband has a nerve disease that won't let him ride in a car for long periods. A 4-5 hour drive is his limit. Getting out of the car and walking or stretching, doesn't help all that much.
