Hey everyone!

I purchased the MidWest Exercise Pen at the recommendation of the breeder & it being the top rated exercise pen online. I have yet to put this bad boy to use, as I get my puppy on Thursday! I am curious if anyone has any suggestions for some sort of floor mat/blanket/pad/etc that will protect my hardwood floors from being scratched. I would prefer something that is machine washable, just in case there is an accident. I'm not sure if I will utilize the full space of the pen, but it would be nice to have something large enough to cover the entire enclosed floor (roughly 48"x48").

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the MidWest Exercise Pen, here it is: MidWest Exercise Pen

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey James--check the message I left you on the bottom of your page--small world! I think I know your pup's daddy!

Did you have any problem with your puppy chewing the blanket or the tarp?

Some puppies chew everything, some never chew things up.  Ned never chewed his blankets, dog beds, etc but he did get pillows with zippers, unzip them and pull out the stuffing.  He did this only with zippered pillows, but never actually damaged the pillow.  I finally got a brain and put all the decorative pillows with zippers away

We buy a $20 linoleum remnant at Home Depot / Lowes and use it for the base of ours. I just posted a photo on the photos page.
Where'd you get that ex pen? It looks pretty big! Thanks!
Amazon.com Brand is North States I think.

We did the same as others previously stated -- role of linoleum from home depot.  The nice thing was that it didn't look that bad and kinda blended in with the hardwood flooring we had throughout the room.  Great for easy cleanup too!
