Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We went to the local animal shelter and found our Eli. He's approximately 6-8 months old because he has his adult teeth and they are all pearly white with tiny yellow staining on the back. The vet thinks labradoodle. Some people have said schnoodle but I don't see schnauzer. He has curly hair but also a wavy/wiry feel along his body. He does shed a tiny tiny amount. I asked the vet if he would get any bigger but he said he doesn't know. Supposedly they can grow until 2 years old? Either way we love him. I was just looking for opinions on his breed and if you think he will get any bigger. He's over 30lbs and about 18 inches tall.

Pictures are of him at the shelter, him on his freedom ride and the day of his grooming. Groomer had to cut him extremely short because he was severely matted. (Pics in comments. Don't know why they didn't post originally).

He's adorable. Just call him a doodle if that's what you want him to be. In the long run what he is really doesn't matter as long as he is loved. Thank you for giving him a furever home.

*thats what my husband says. We love him either way. He's a goofball and the kids love him.

What an adorable baby! Looks like you both hit the jackpot!   He sure looks like a doodle of some sort. Thanks for giving him love and a home, wishing you many happy and healthy years together!!!

What a cutie!

I am not an expert but it looks like he has poodle in him.

He is adorable - enjoy him.

Please keep posting pictures so we can watch him grow up.

I definitely will :)

He is most definitely has schnauzer coloring. but if he is a schnoodle, I don't think there would be any shedding if he was totally that mix. In his shelter pic he really looks like poodle mixed with some kind of retriever.  Whatever he is, he is adorable and thank you for rescuing him. I would think that he is full grown.

Yes! He definitely has shedding. On his bed, our couch, etc. I'm anxious to see what he looks like when his hair grows out. She cut it really short and made it "schnauzer looking." He was so matted he needed it.

One of our fosters a  Bichon/poodle.  Shaved to his pink skin, but when he grew out to be gorgeous in about 3 or 4 months.  Your Eli is already less shaved than Sunny was.

What a sweet boy! It just warms my heart to see him laying on the bed surrounded by toys... what a blessing you are to him!

From his shelter picture, I can see why you fell in love with him.  He is absolutely darling,

If he is a schnoodle he should be awesome.
