Finally buried Hondo's ashes yesterday.

Hondo, my heart dog, died in 2010.

I remember that time as I had just joined Doodle Kisses. I could sympathize with you because we had also lost our standard poodle at that time and I still lament the fact he had to leave us too soon.  Our boys were very special boys!  RIP sweet Hondo.

Well, we are moving to Oregon and have had his ashes in a beautiful carved box on the bookshelf since 2010.  I just never had the heart to bury them, but the time is here.  We buried the box with a little ceremony looked over by our new puppy.

RIP Hondo. I know how you feel.  I still have my girl's ashes on my bookshelf also. I attached her paw print on her box and put her with her collar.  I was thinking about burying it at her favorite dog park but am in the same situation.  She meant so much to me.

I still have my dog's ashes from then also and haven't brought myself to do anything with them except look at the box.  Sending hugs to you.

I have Hershey, Honey, and Princess (our cat) in wooden boxes on our bookshelf. We brought them with us to MI. I could never bury Hershey outside, because she always hated being out there without us. Sounds silly, but it is how I feel. I am glad you are at peace with burying your sweet Hondo. May he rest in peace and in your heart forever.

I'm sure Hondo is in a very good place.
Just curious. Where in Oregon Are you moving to? I'm thinking about moving there at some point in the future. Can't afford to retire in the Bay Area. My friend grew up in Eugene so it's a spot I checked out earlier this year. I've visited Portland a few times on business and loved it.
