The requirements for your photos to be accepted can be found here:

Here is the information on how to submit your photos. Deadline for Submissions: September 23rd, 2018

https://doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/now-accepting-2019-doodle-cal...

This discussion is great opportunity to get feedback. Many people in this group have had their photos in the calendar year after year.

1.  If you can't decide which photos to submit, this group loves to give opinions! Number your photos and PLEASE, no more than 4 photos per post. You can post multiple times throughout the weeks but I don't want to see 20 pictures in a single post.

2. Post images that you want recommendations for regarding crop, or editing help.

3. Not sure if your image is up to snuff? Post and ask. We will give honest feedback as to what is working and not working.

4. If you are open to reshooting your photos, post your photo and we can give very helpful advice on how to reshoot and make it so much better!

Good luck!

Hi Frank. Welcome to the group. You might want to look at the guidelines (link at top of page).

Make sure your image meets these. Generally people aren’t included. And the format needs to be horizontal.  The last one is cute if you can crop it horizontally and still have enough pixels. I’m partial to that nice red color!

Frank, I love the last one, but vertical photos are not accepted. Is there any way you could retake that one so it meets the criteria? TeddyToyDoodle is so cute!

Thanks Nancy and Laura.  I am very dumb on manipulating photos but let me see what I can do (or better yet, my nieces or nephew).  It may have been already cropped.

By horizontal, I trust you mean it is LONGER than it is HIGH ?

It needs to be wider than it is tall....just substitute the word photo for video and see the difference in this photo. Hope this helps.

LOL...now Laurie...do you remember this one ...vertical...never say never!

Peri, that flower was so well behaved! Lol!  Seriously though, are you going out by yourself to take these photos? I ask because sometimes, it can be a HUGE help to have someone else get DJ's attention. That last photo looks great but he is looking a little high. I can tell you some of the secrets I have learned. My good friend Laurie Arnold, suggested using a harmonica to blow on to get his attention. My girls no longer care how much I blow it, they have heard it too often. But most dogs have never heard that noise and will pay attention. I help out my friend who is a pet photographer. I stand behind her and blow the harmonica and most of the dogs will give me a head tilt on that one. It doesn't have to be a harmonica, just any noise they don't hear frequently. The squeaky toy rarely works because they hear it a lot, although I do have a toy or two in reserve that make a different kind of squeak than the ones they hear every day. They don't get those toys to play with...Lol.

Also, as far as tags go, turn the collar around so the tags are on his back. That way you won't see them. You could even leave a leash attached and run it down the center of his back. If staying is a problem, I have been known to put the end of the leash under a rock or brick so the dog cant move. Keep on taking pics! I take literally thousand to end up with 5 good ones to submit.

I found a new toy and it really works to get a head tilt. Might not work forever, but it worked today. I found this at Target in the toy section.

Oh I love that chicken! Does it make that different kind of "grunting noise"?

It just makes this very loud, weird sound.

You have quit the chicken collection!

I just happened to find this at Target :)

Love it. I use squeaky toys but after awhile they become immune so you have to use them wisely and always find new ones. I heard there is an app of sounds to get a dog's attention that you can use on an iPhone. But holding an iPhone while doing everything else is too much. I have a duck caller that works great and I can hold it in my mouth.
