Here is the information on how to submit your photos. Deadline for Submissions: September 23rd, 2018

This discussion is great opportunity to get feedback. Many people in this group have had their photos in the calendar year after year.

1.  If you can't decide which photos to submit, this group loves to give opinions! Number your photos and PLEASE, no more than 4 photos per post. You can post multiple times throughout the weeks but I don't want to see 20 pictures in a single post.

2. Post images that you want recommendations for regarding crop, or editing help.

3. Not sure if your image is up to snuff? Post and ask. We will give honest feedback as to what is working and not working.

4. If you are open to reshooting your photos, post your photo and we can give very helpful advice on how to reshoot and make it so much better!

Good luck!

Jolene, these are great shots! My favorites are number 2 from the first group where she’s standing in the water, and shots 2 and 3 of her jumps. Wow!  Where are those camera skills at our romps? You sure know how to get action shots!

Thanks Nancy. If you think about it at the romps she won't let me do anything but throw the ball. lol  My camera skills consists of taking 500 or more photos and then sifting out the small handful that came out.  This entire trip was photos of her the first day.  I realized after we got home I never took a sunrise or sunset picture and that's usually my favorite time on the lake?  There could have been some really cute ones of Josie she was walking all over the boat while we were swimming but by the time I would have gotten out of the water, dried off and gotten the camera prepped she was doing off something else. Seems like every time we hit the water she worked her way to the bow of the boat to supervise us? lol

I love the last one.. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom.  My mom was sick the first 7 months of the year so I totally get what you are talking about.  Hugs to you.

Jolene, I am so sorry about your mom!

OK, I realize that what I am asking for is a real task. It is just so rare for me to get a really good shot of Lucy and Id like to have this one, even if its just for me and not calendar worthy. It just looks unbalanced because I know it needs more "open space" in front of her for her to run into. I would like someone to maybe take the flowers and background from behind her and put it in front of her. Since I have no editing skills of my own, I realize I may be asking the impossible and feel free to laugh at me. Jarka originally edited it for me months ago and made it brighter but at the time I wasn't thinking "calendar".

You got some good action going on there. Can you email me the original straight out of the camera file?

FYI there have been a couple people (names will not be mentioned :-)   that export the file out of a program instead of copying it directly from the computer to email. If you really know what you are doing this works great, but sometimes you are unintentionally deleting information.

Yes ma'am! Just sent it.

Uh....... I swear it isn't me.....   I set my camera to raw, Nancy, but they still go to my iphoto when I download them so I don't know that it makes any difference.  I also did that whatever letters you told me to do...... s something......

It wasn’t you.

Nancy, I set my camera to RAW as well. Are you using "iPhoto" or "photos"? iPhoto is Apples outdated program and will not load the RAW images. I am still using iPhoto because I like it better but I am going to have to switch to either "photos" or another program soon.

Just curious Lori, If you set your camera to Raw why did you send me a jpg file when I asked for the straight out of camera file? Please do not take this as a criticism, it truly is just a question.

Photos does have pretty extensive editing capabilities, at least as much as what iPhoto offers. Once you get the hang of it it's not that bad. I definitely prefer Lightroom as it is miles ahead in what it can do, but you can't just expect to open it up and be ready to go.

For both programs I find anytime I have a question or forget how to do something I just google the question and I can usually find the answer. I do that for the rest of my life too!

Because the RAW images would not load into iPhoto. I don't know how to get to the RAW images. Oh, and that particular photo was taken in the spring and I wasn't using RAW.
