Teary eyes

I am wondering if anyone can tell me about cause/ prevention/ treatment for the teary eyes?
Charlie's one eye tears a lot. Right now, I am just keeping it clean by wiping with warm wash cloth...

if the eye tends to be tearing excessively and it is mostly one eye and not both I would seek out the vet..it could be an infection in his tear duct......

Tearing can be caused by allergies. If you have determined there is no infection or ingrown eyelashes, then you could look at allergies as a source of irritation. To topically treat allergies, my vet says to wipe eyes with cooled black tea. You could also try changing your dogs diet, as much of tearing is due to food allergies.

Someone had also told me that while puppies are teething, they can have tearl eyes as well...
Her eyes seems to stop tearing and I was wonderling if that was because of her teething or not...
