I give Lucy NuVet Plus. Her breeder got me started on those and I have just kept up with them. They are pricey, but I have read alot about them and don't know of any others that are any better. Although she has come from a good line and the vet feels she is in excellent condition, I want to give her the best.
Yes, i supplement the following that are bioavailable, human grade: fish oil with olive oil 2000mg/day (distilled and tested for mercury content, high dose due to allergies); Nanogreen 10 (supergreen food, antioxidants, support immune function and increase resistance to infections & reduce allergy symptoms), Nanopro (colostrum: bolsters immunity), CorvalenM (D-Ribose, restore cellular energy needed to promote healthy tissue function), Enzymes and probiotic powder (aids digestion/assimilation of barf). I mix these ingredients as a powder or puncture the capsules and place in Winston's food (Barf diet). So far, this has done better for Winston's sx other than the medicated sprays for his feet, weekly medicated shampoos. He's also on twice daily dosing of chlortrimeton. I'm going to try the 50/50 sol of apple cider vinegar and water bath for his sx as well. Wish to accomplish? Control the allergies and erythema multiforme without (or minimal) conventional therapies (steroids, cyclosporins (immune modulators), etc) that may cause inflammation in the long run to his liver and thus shortening his life.
I give them human grade salmon oil capsules each day. Also, cranberry and Apple Cider Vinegar tablets for urinary tract health and supposedly many other helpful things!
We give Divot "Pet Health" From Market America. It's an OPC formula with Glucosamine. OPC is full of antioxidents, and is a beef flavored powder we sprinkle on his food once a day. We use it as a health supplement and take the human version ourselves.
