I made these and used very little ones at obed. school. Fergie had two classes back to back so she got a lot of these. Not a real good idea. Poops were the same light color as these turn out and very very light. It looked like the dough before it was cooked.
So - make sure to mix these with the Liver ones or some kibble when going to class and feeding lots of treats.
1. Combine wheat flour, bread flour, wheat germ, salt, and brown sugar, and flax seed in mixing bowl. Stir in eggs and vegetable oil.
2. Dissolve dry milk in water then incorporate the mixture.
3. Mix to form a very firm dough that is smooth and workable. Adjust by adding a little extra flour or water as required.
4. Cover the dough and set aside to relax for 15-20 min.
5. Roll the dough out to 1/2″ (1.2cm) thick. Cut out biscuits using a bone-shaped cutter 3″x1.5″ (7.5×3.7cm). Place the biscuits on sheet pans lined with baking paper.
6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for approx. 40 minutes or until biscuits are brown and, more importantly, rock-hard. Let biscuits cool, then store in a covered container five to six feet off the flour. Use as needed to reward your four-legged friends.)
A note about the last instruction. These are to be given out at least 3-4 times daily. If not, dogs, feel free to go potty where ever you are not supposed to.
I made some snickerpoodles for Wilson to give too his puppy friends for Valentines Day they all loved them, in fact his friend Maisy thought she was getting people food, so when she got one she ran into the family room to eat it, Willson got one that accidently fell on the floor and just loved it. Thanks for the recipes

Here's another peanut butter cookie recipe. Just about every dog I've given these to has loved them. My sister calls them Krista's canine crack because her dogs do just about anything for one. I modified the original recipe (substitued out the oil and corn meal) to make it a little healthier but the dogs still love them. These are cute cut into shapes with cookie cutters, but you could just form them into basic bars.
Peanut Butter Cookies
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of a rich vegetable or meat broth
1/2 cup applesauce
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/3 cup peanut butter (plain or crunchy)
3 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup brown rice flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Mix liquid ingredients together well.
3. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
4.Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
5.Form into a ball on floured surface and roll out to ½ inch thick.
6. Cut into desired shapes.
7.Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
8. Turn off oven and leave the cookies in the oven for 1 hour to dry and harden.
NOTE: If making a double batch (great for sharing) or if all the cookies won't fit in the oven at one time, you can bake them in batches and then place all the cookies back in the oven to harden as the oven cools. This is an important step as any moisture can cause the cookie to mold (no preservatives and all that).
Just a hint - I just made another batch of Liva-treats and I didn't think of this the first time around.
I hate hate liver so it always goes in the food processor so I don't have to deal with it. Since I was doing that - I put the liver and the eggs in there to chop so I added the EGG SHELLS too. They are supposed to be good for dogs too.
Didn't waste anything on this batch.
