I purchased a labradoodle puppy five months ago from Oregon Labradoodles in Oregon State.. They said they had completed all the health testing on the parents, (hips & eyes) and yet they are not sending me the eye tests on the female and are not returning my emails. Has anyone else had this problem with Oregon Labradoodles or other breeders? How did you resolve the issue?

Sounds like we are in the same boat. I just do not like it when breeders are not straight with their customers. What is the name of the breeder your dog came from?

Sounds like you made a good decision if you did not buy the puppy.
I did not have that problem but I have heard of others. I would do what Nancy said and not recommend her. I would guess that she lied and does not have the tests. Why else would a breeder not give you copy....or the female did not pass the tests.
Barkers Mom to be....Did you get a puppy from them?

Yes I did and the puppy is a good dog. I have a health certificate so I am covered. I just do not like it when people are evasive and do not execute on what they say they are going to do. After all, none of these dogs are cheap.
I had no trouble with any paperwork, including transfer of ownership which did not happen for six months, until I provided proof of neutering. So I think you are wise to not recommend this breeder, but keep your puppy - because really, who can give up their puppy once they have them home? You might ask Adina if you can post this under reviews.

New to the site. Who is Adina? Do I need her permission to post in the review section?
Adina is the administrator of this website. She created it and makes the slide shows every week. She is a very busy lady, so I think it would be a lot to get her permission to post in any section. Have fun and have at it.
I have provided all my documentation on both parents for the dog Jim received and HAVE tested all dogs for PRA. A few months ago I had to downsize my house due to my children's father being terminally ill and during the move lost/misplaced the original PRA form for Nikki the mother of the puppy Jim is discussing. I have spent hours going through all my documentation to locate it. I have explained the above to Jim and asked for his patience during a very difficult time for my family/children. It saddens me that someone can be so self absorbed. I have provided a very healthy and amazing beautiful puppy to this family that they love yet they are wanting to negate that due to 1 form I have been unable to find. Jim is aware that I plan to retest this dog but she is due with puppies in the next week and I will not take her away from them until they are at least 6 weeks old. Especially since this is a repeat of the same test we have already done.
I hope we can keep this forum fun and discuss the great traits of the labradoodle and not let one sour/impatient person mislead and put malice here as this is one of the best positive forums we have to share out experiences.
Those of you who know me and have done business with me know that Oregon Labradoodles is a reputable and honest business with the goal of total satisfaction for Doodle owners. Unfortunately, Jim is one out of approximately 300 customers that is unsatisfied. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or comments.
Good for you for posting! I think hearing both sides is important :)
Like I said we have all forgotten to do somethings big and little~ heck the last puppy I sent home I met half way, I laid the ALAA transfer papers on my island grabbed my son and his bag, they puppy and her bag and left the papers lay on the island. I spent a week after I got back trying to work my new scanner and the blasted thing would not communicate with my computer, I was frustrated, the new owner was so excited to have her baby and wanted to transfer it to her name, we ended up emailing the registrar jointly to transfer ownership..... my brain was so wrapped around scanning it that snail mail never entered the picture. :)
There was also a time when I went from an all paper system to an electronic system and had all my health docs in one huge pile and had to DIG for them, then a year later I up dated computers when my old computer crashed and I had to start all over!
We are all human and make blunders~ it is how we handle them that matters, communication is key.
One huge benefit of being an ALAA member is that our health records are stored by the association too so if I ever find myself stuck with a huge pile of tests or a computer that doesn't co operate I have the ALAA storage as back up.
Shelia most of us know you are a great breeder, keep up the good work.
Well said Sheila. Rob and I back your reputation for being a reputable and very honest breeder of Multi-Gen Australian Labradoodles 100%. We will also back you in saying that you have been there for us at all hours of the day, helping us out whenever we have questions concerning our doodles. Communication has never been an issue. I am certain that other reputable Multi-Gen Australian Labradoodle breeders and the service dog organizations we donate to would say the same.
Rob and I are two of Sheila's guardian breeders for OregonLabradoodles and we have two of her pups in our program. The first pup, Celie, is Nikki's (mother of the pup Jim is talking about) daughter so would be Jim's pups half sibling. We have had her for two years now and she has passed all of her tests including her eyes. She is one great dog. Anyone lucky enough to have one of Nikki's pups would say the same thing I am sure of it, even Jim himself.
The other pup that we just got from Sheila came from Nikki's mom, Kali, who just had her last litter. This 10 week old pup, named Meisha (we haven't posted pics of yet), is Nikki's half sibling and she is an absolute dream. We can't wait to see what type of pups she is able to produce in the years to come.
We also have two other dogs, Logan and Kia, in our program. Logan came from a well known reputable breeder in Canada and Kia came from Tegan Park. Both of these dogs came to our program through Sheila. And both of these breeders would have not let Sheila have these breeding dogs without knowing Sheila's reputation as a breeder and the high standards (e.g. testing) that she has for her breeding dogs.
Sheila takes a great deal of pride in her blood lines that she has been producing for over 8 years now and only allows the best of the best to breed. She expects the same from her guardian breeders and we have no doubt in our minds that all of her pups have been tested.
Jim, it is unfortunate that Sheila and her family are dealing with personal issues at this time and that the paperwork has not been located. I am certain that this matter will be taken care of ASAP.
If anyone has any other questions or comments concerning the reputation of OregonLabradoodles I am all ears. We have numerous testimonials on our website from families who have bought pups from OregonLabradoodles and we have many families who have returned to buy a second or third that I am sure would step up and let anyone know what they need to know.
There are always 2 sides, I am happy to hear Sheila's. Thank you for clearing everything up.

I would not consider myself a sour/impatient person but rather a frustrated customer from the standpoint of communications and actions in getting all the appropriate paperwork and health testing in my hands to review. This is not about Oregon Labradoodle dogs or their reputation as a breeder. It is about health testing documentation that I have been promised since our conversations began back in October 2008. Every consumer purchasing a puppy of this caliber should have the ability to review all the parents health documents either by email or on a breeders web site prior to the purchase if they chose to do so. I was upfront from the beginning in asking to see proof of testing for both parents, Nikki and Story. It is now almost five months since our discussions began. If five months is being impatient then I would like to know what you think is reasonable? I have been sensitive to Sheila’s family distractions and since December 20th I have directed all communication (with copies to Sheila) to her partner as instructed. These communications have not been what I would call customer friendly. I have been told as recent as 3/24/09, “this is not a high priority with us” and “we owe you nothing and we’ll consider sending you testing reports at our discretion and on our time schedule”. I ask, do these comments sound like they are coming from breeder with the goal of total satisfaction for Doodle owners?
All I want is for Oregon Labradoodles to give me a reasonable date as to when I will be sent the PRA on Nikki, mother of Boomer and actually receive the test results. I do not think that this is an unreasonable request from a reputable and honest breeder. This is all I have been asking for over the past three months when it became known that Nikki’s PRA was lost.
We love Boomer and he really is a good dog. We are not going to return Boomer as he is now a part of our family. He is a very happy content puppy with three kids and a two-year-old goldendoodle to play with.
