Hi everyone! I wrote in a couple weeks ago about looking to add a doodle to our family. Well, a lot has happened since then! I had a couple that fell through for various reasons, then I happened to find a little Labradoodle girl named Story in Ohio. I immediately contacted the rescue about her, and was told she was still available. I filled out the applicated and was approved a week later! So here is a little more info about Story. She was found in a high kill shelter in Ohio, her nails had never been trimmed, and her fur had never been cut so she was a mess! They said she was given up for economic reasons. But the shelter saw the potential in her and found a rescue who would take her. They put her with a foster who cleaned her up and put her in a home setting to learn the basics all over again. They believe she is 10 months to a year old and is a very sweet, gentle girl! For everything she has been through, she is not aggressive and is healthy. She gets fixed on Monday and we are going to pick her up Friday! I'm attaching some pictures the foster sent me. She is very underweight - about 35 - 40 pounds and she should be around 50. Say a prayer for her on Monday! I'll keep you updated!
Thank you so much everyone! We had so much fun shopping for her yesterday. We went a little crazy in the toy aisle. I can't believe how attached we've gotten to her already and we haven't even met yet. I spent way too much time trying to decide on the right food for her. She is on a holistic, natural food right now and I tried to find something similar. I also tried to figure out what kind of brushes and combs I'll need for her culry doodle fur! My last dog was a short haired terrier, so little needed to be done for her. I decided on an all-purpose comb that is good for everyday combing and for working on mats. This should be interesting! Six more days!
