Whats this on the brush? My f1b goldendoodle is 16 weeks old today and today for the first time I noticed a small amount of fur in the brush after brushing. Is this her coat changing? I hope she isnt going to be a shedder (I wouldnt love her less but we really are into no shedding). I cant remember when our 12 yr old Bichon cross went through this.

I would not say hair on the brush points to shedding tendencies. It If they are not shedding the hair must go somewhere . Often the coat change occurs between 9 - 14 monthes so it does appear to be a bit early.
Our experience with Allie is the same as Noah. There is hair on the brush - but nothing on clothing or furniture.
I think even non-shedders leave hair on brushes. Remember TRUE non-shedders have hair like human hair...it just keeps growing and growing and growing until you cut it off. YET, I for one leave TONS of hair in my brush those few times I ever bother to brush (with curly hair I don't do it but rarely). Shedders drop hair without any help... but even non-shedders can get their hair pulled a bit with brushing.

She may shed SOME but I wouldn't worry about it ...YET.
LOL tell me about it! I am the shedding animal in this home lol! But the weird thing is I never had any hair at all on her brush before today. Mind you her fur is getting longer and longer and the dogs were doing a lot of rambuctious outdoor playing in the past week of nice weather (YAY the snow is finally gone!)
Yoda doesn't shed, but when I use the rake on him, it pulls out huge amounts of his undercoat. Getting that hair out of there is the only thing that helps with the matts.
Same here. We don't find Toby's hair on clothes or anything, but when I use the rake (twice a week or so) the hair just flies. We had him groomed for the first time 2 weeks ago, and the groomer said he was the best combed out doodle she'd ever seen. So I strongly advocate using the rake!
Hi Sandy!
Where did you get the rake??? Thanks!
Hair on brush here too. No hair anywhere else. Well, not unless the cat pulls a bit out of him when he bites her tail. We have had a bit of that recently. I don't think that counts.
