Mine won't eat out of her bowl, and it isn't just that bowl, its ANY bowl, but the second the food is in my hand or on the ground she attacks it!

Now that could be messy at my house as we are using homecooked and raw foods. How long will she go without eating if you just left it in the bowl? Do you think she'd eat eventually if she were hungry enough? Does she knock the bowl over to get the food out onto the floor?
She went pretty much all day, I was desperate to get her to eat without me and just in her bowl or any bowl really, but she didn't touch it. Finally when I made dinner I saw her begging for food, so I gave in a made her a big batch of wet and dry food combined, and ended up having to feed it to her out of my hand
Mandy did that for a couple of days when we first got her. I think it was my fault though. I wanted her to get used to people touching the food, her, the bowl while she ate since I hope she will be a therapy dog. I fed her from my hand and then she seemed to think that was the way she was to eat. Finally I just put the food in the bowl and left the room and she started to eat again without me holding it. I would try it again but don't give in, she will eat it when she gets hungry enough.
Ya, see I tried all day, and she was STARVING I could tell! I didn't give in all day, until finally I broke because she was beggingggg me for my food. I didnt give it to her and ignored her and then led her to her food where i figured she would eat it since she was sooo hungry, but no dice. I had to give in.
Have you tried to just put your hand through the food so it smells like you on the kibble? You could also use the food as treats during training then you know she is getting some then and may associate her food with being a treat? I also did that with Mandy. I also did what you did, put it on the floor by her bowl. I scattered some around and then when she finished it she ate some out of the bowl and I praised her galore. I hope she starts eating from her bowl soon, it is frustrating!
My puppy did the same thing. For the first three days he was home he would only eat from my hand. I then started sitting by the bowl and he did start to eat (but just a little). It's now six days since he came home and he is finally starting to eat from the bowl on his own, but I have to leave the food down all day because he eats so little at a time.
Oh I'm glad to hear that, because I have the same problem, she barely eats at all! Even when I give her canned food, which she loves, she still only has a few bites. Its concerning how little they eat
I wonder if feeding out of a Kong would help. It ends up on the floor that way anyway and it's kind of like a game to them. It would be worth trying.
We feed Wrigley from an Everlasting Fun Ball. Her entire meal fits in there, and she has to nose it around to make the kibble come out, but she loves it. We put her in her kennel with the ball, and it takes her about 10-15 minutes to finish her meal, which is better than when she was inhaling her food. There are some reviews of the Everlasting Fun Ball under the "Review" section at the top of this page. Maybe it would work for you. I ordered mine online for under $15.
