Introducing Tilly!

Tilly needs a loving home!
She currently lives in Union Ohio.
Tilly is a probably a Labradoodle.
She is roughly one year old and has been neutered.
I would say she weighs between 35 to 45 lbs.
She is crate trained (She sleeps in her crate) and housetrained.
She currently lives in a household with children a dog and a cat.
Tilly knows a few basic commands.
She has just been groomed and looks lovely!
There is no fee to rehome her.

Tilly was adopted from the Miami County Shelter in Ohio. The people who adopted her decided they couldn’t keep her because she was too active and would knock down their child. Her friend Anissa said she would take Tilly and try to find a home for her. Anissa has had Tilly for about a month or so. She would keep Tilly but she already has a big beautiful lab and she does not have the time to devote to her nor does she have a fenced yard that she feels Tilly needs. (Tilly is very lucky that she has Anissa looking out for her!)

I saw the advertisement for Tilly and drove a little over an hour and a half to see her. I would have taken her into my home in a heartbeat but decided it would be too much at this time. I just had my GD spayed a couple of days ago and she needs to take it easy. I also have a LD and when they are together all they want to do is play. I have to keep them in separate rooms and they don’t like it one bit! We will be heading to Florida for a vacation with the doods after we get the OK from the vet.

Tilly will need obedience training. She is very active and will chase rabbits, cats etc. She does jump up on people when they come in the door and will try to dart out of the door if she can. She will probably need a fenced yard.

I really believe Tilly is a great dog. She has a great personality! I think if she has someone who will take her to classes she will make an awesome addition to a family! Is there anyone out there that can offer Tilly a forever home?

She looks wheaten to me more than labradoodle. But look at her cute purple tongue!
She's darling and of course deserves a wonderful home! But I don't think she's a labradoodle.
I believe the Shelter listed her as a labradoodle. She does have a cute tongue!
We had a Wheaten/lhasa cross, and she looks just like our old dog. Very cute though.
If I had to put money on it, I would bet that this is not a doodle. That doesn't mean that she doesn't deserve a great home, though.
Very often, when a shelter has to guess the breed for listing purposes, they may list the dog as the most desirable or adoptable combination they can, so that the dog will come up on Petfinder searches when people are looking for popular breeds such as Poodles and labradoodles. Sometimes, you even see things like pitbull mixes listed under "Airedale terriers", that kind of thing.
I am personally opposed to transferring adopted dogs from owner to owner, without a legitimate rescue organization in the mix to safeguard the dog's well-being by screening adopters carefully. Plus, if this dog was adopted from a shelter, there may be a clause in the adoption agreement that she is to returned to them, although if it's a kill shelter, I can understand why someone wouldn't return her to them. An advertisement for rehoming a dog always worries me...there are people who buy these dogs to use for pitbull baiting and to sell for labratory experiments. Tilly has already been through at least three homes that we know of, and has spent time in a shelter. I would strongly urge whoever has her to contact a reputable rescue organization to assist in finding a good home for her.
Doesn't a purple tongue indicate some Chow? We have two friends with Chow mix dogs who are wonderful animals.
I thought that, too, but i was seeing too many mixes with blue or purple spots on their tongues who didn't appear to have any Chow in them, doodles included. So I researched it. Here is a list of other breeds that are commonly known to sometimes have spots of blue, black, or purple on their tongues:

Airedale, Akita, Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, Belgian Sheepdog, Belgian Tervuren, Belgian Malinois, Bichon Frise
Bouvier de Flandres, Bull Mastiff, Cairn Terrier, Chinese Shar-Pei, Collie, Cocker Spaniel, Dalmatian, Doberman Pinscher,
English Setter, Eurasier, Fila Brasileiro, Flat-coated Retriever, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Gordon Setter, Great Pyrenees,
Irish Setter, Kai Ken, Keeshond, Korean Jindo, Labrador Retriever, Mastiff, Mountain Cur, Newfoundland, Pomeranian,
Pug, Rhodesian Ridgeback Rottweiler, Shiba Inu, Siberian Husky, Tibetan Mastiff, Thai Ridgeback
