This was a discussion I started when I first joined DK in the East Coast group. I thought it would be fun for us to have a record of where all our doodles come from here in the GRAD group. That way we will know how many of our doods are related.
Stella was born Nov. 13th 2007
At Old Mill Doodles in Staunton VA
to Kane and Kandy
If everyone could post the same information maybe others can find siblings or half siblings when joining the group.
If you have a rescue just post as much as you know... who knows what could happen.
Winston was born 4/7/08 at Old Mill Doodles to Juan & Lemmy. Would love to hear from siblings or half siblings of Winston. I have not met many doodles in the Salisbury, Maryland area. I know of 2 labradoodles and met a golden doodle taking obedience classes at the kennel club.
Also, have any doodle owners run into a bias against "designer dogs"? Having taken 3 courses through the kennel club, I found a few of the instructors who were really against a "mixed" breed. One told me I could have bought a golden retriever from her cheaper than buying my doodle - duh none of her business!
Hi Brenda - Welcome to GRAD! Hope you can come to Richmond for one of our romps or get-togethers. I think Juan has sired quite a few of the GRAD doodles so you'll find lots of Winston's relatives among the group.
Regarding the "designer dog" bias, one of the GRAD members started a main Doodle Kisses discussion titled "Anybody ever had their Doodle called a Mutt? Posted by Joy Williams on August 19, 2008. You can enter mutt in the discussion search field on the main page if you want to read what other members have heard and how they've responded to such snobbishness or ignorance. Doodles Rule!
Thank you for the welcome!!! I would love to together with other doods. Please let me know when you are having something special. I will need to know in advance since Richmond is about 4 hours away.
