I have been trying to find the best company that has pet insurance for my new Doodle. We have insurance with VPI on our cavachon and it's not the best, so-so. We have two toy poodles that does not have insurance and I wish we did!! We've spent a fortune taking them to the vet and buying medicine. My husband tells everyone we have the only two dogs with a PhD--they been to VA Tech twice to ICU.
I'm looking for any suggestions on the best pet insurance that doesn't cost a lot, covers well, and not hard to get your money returned to you.
I have Pet Plan Plus on Lucy. I can not tell how good it is though b/c, fortunately, I have not had to use it. You can find it online. They have many different plans to choose from and pretty reasonable.
I use their Silver plan - I can't tell you yet on how they reimburse TG!! It cosst me $231 for the year $200 deductible per year/per incident. They then pay 100% up to ???. I didn't want it for the everyday - just catastrophic.
I have VIP. When Charlie got spayed, it was about $370, and VIP reimbursed me $200. I just fax the form and I get check in 2 weeks or so... I never have any other insurance, so I thought this was good. I will be curious to see the other people's responce! I wish I had insurance on my old dog, too. But they said that he was too old and could not get it :(
We have a very basic VPI plan (really just for emergencies)...it only costs ~$100/yr per doodle. It did pay for ~3/4 of Dexter's stomach obstruction surgery so it definitely paid for itself!!
