I'm wondering whether there are any veterinarians who are members of DK? I often respond to posts about medical issues with doodles but my only training is with humans. Although there are many cases where that is helpful sometimes things don't "translate" to dogs. If there are any vets out there perhaps they could respond at least when there is misinformation posted. This would be just friendly not professional advice with any necessary disclaimers added. Also it would be interesting to have some things addressed from a vets perspective since sometimes i think the vets get a "bad rap" on some of the forums.
I know we have a vet tech on board. And I think Yvette is a breeder AND vet: http://www.doodlekisses.com/profile/DrYvetteVinton -- but don't hold me to that. Most of our animal professionals (trainers included) tend to keep quiet.
Thanks to both of you for the info. Good detective work Andy et al. I guess the vets will have to "volunteer' themselves if they want to get involved. I hope they do.
My daughter is in her third year of vet school. Sometimes, I ask her about issues I read about on DK and add her opinion to the discussion--not too often, though--she is TOO BUSY!
