Ozzy was outside having a good time playing in the rain and getting full of mud. Well this doodle mom could only think of the mess that was about to enter my house and I called for Ozzy to come inside. Happy and carefree Ozzy came running right in wagging his tail and I grabbed his collar to make sure I dried him and got this mud off but, Ozzy ran in on my tile floor and slipped as if he was skating..my arm was still holding his collar trying to make sure that my wet muddy doodle did not get hurt..I am the one that ended up with a torn rotator cuff and now have to have surgery...I am not going to be able to walk Ozzy for months....I never expected that to happen and never guessed how strong Ozzy really was until now. Next time I will take the mud.
OMG, I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you, Marianne!
I found out how strong Jack is early in our relationship, when he dragged me (from a sitting position) across the lawn and sidewalk and right out into the street. Fortunately I only got skinned knees and elbows.
Rotator cuff injuries are tough. When will you be having the surgery, I hope it goes well!
You know Ozzie didn't mean it! Hugs to you both.
Ouch Marianne...so sorry! I've gotten a strong tug from Thule when grabbing her collar to keep her from going out (just into our yard...nothing dangerous). Once after a training session with Rosco during a doggy get together I leashed him up and stopped paying attention to him while I chatted with people...when he decided he had to run after a ball thrown for another dog. I landed flat on the ground...uninjured but it was close!
I just feel bad that I can't take him for walks now and we were going to start "Flyball" but looks like I am out of commission. Poor Ozzy didn't mean it, if you could only have seen the look on his face when he went sliding across the floor. I am going to the Hospital for Special Surgery on Wednesday for an evaluation, I will keep you posted...
It can happen in a minute, if only we had rewind in life. So sorry.
We had Neely hanging around the airport getting ready to board. We had the luggage cart full and my son and his girlfriend were pulling each other wasting time. So we put my son 6'4 on top of the cart too and he held Neelys leash and I went across the terminal area and called him and he pulled the cart and all over to me and then i kept calling him and did circles and everything. He is only 7 months. We only did it for a few minutes not to exhaustion or anything like that. But If HE wanted to I'd be in serious road rash recovery.
