Need Help In Ontario, Canada and Upstate New York Areas

After posting this in the groups Toronto and Canada, with no response, I will place this plea in the Main Forum.

Meet Olli ( pronounced O’ Lee ).

My family would LOVE to adopt him. Two things are holding up this adoption: Transportation and a passport.

1. Olli needs a ride to the border out of Canada to cross around the Buffalo area. ( CAN SOMEONE IN CANADA DRIVE HIM TO THE BORDER?)
2. Olli needs to cross the border. ( I WILL BE AT THE BORDER TO MEET HIM )

I would love to have the papers placed in his mouth and he could walk across himself and run straight to us and his forever NEW HOME!

Can’t you just visualize this??? Yeah, I’m a dreamer

I need one or the other or both from anyone who would like to donate for a great cause.

So Canada, here is Olli’s location:

2 hours east of Toronto; 2 hours south-west of Ottawa; 3 hours west of Montreal
in a small town called Napanee
which is right on the main highway [interstate] between all those cities
Halfway between Kingston and Belleville to be more precise.

It’s a long 3.5 hour drive, but for a great cause.

New Yorkers or Canada:
Someone to walk a doodle across. The new passport regulations are holding us back.

Yeah, I’m a dreamer but I can hope can’t I?

If you are in Ontario would you please consider adopting this handsome red doodle!!!!

UPDATE:
No beautiful Canadian Red Doodle for us this time.

The DRRC and I have not heard from Olli’s mom for 3 days. After leaving emails, placing Linda, Yankee, and Finn, and KingstonTodd in a holding pattern, and making travel and hotel plans everything has come to a halt. I would get arrested if I went to the border and hung out all weekend hoping they would show up. It is a 2 day trip, so I guess I will have to call it off for this weekend.

This would be a very difficult decision to give up your dog. I hope she finds some peace with her decisions but at the same time I just wish she had the doodle butts to let us know she decided something else.

Thank you all for everything you do out there!

Awwww,Joanne, he is sooooo cute. Good luck in your efforts.
I am 15 minutes from Napanee. If you are still looking for somebody willing to transport him to the border, I could possibly drive him accross the Thousand Island Bridge to NY state, near Watertown. I do have 5 day old puppies right now so Parvo is a serious concern. Where is he coming from? a Shelter or a home? Is he vet checked in the last 30 days? What else does he need to cross?
He is coming from a private home. The owner is ill (?) and no longer able to care for him. According to the surrender she would be taking him to update his shots Thursday ( today ). If she has done this, then we are good to go with the crossing. We are trying to contact her tonight/tomorrow ( it's late).

To cross the border he would need his updated shot records and someone who can get him across as I do not have a passport. Do you have a passport?

I have to get up at 6am. I will be here tomorrow at 1 pm hopefully with more information.

This would save Linda a 2 hour drive. I love you all. Talk to you tomorrow. I thank you and this doodle will kiss all of you soon I hope :)
Kingston Todd,
His shots are only 6 weeks expired ( July ), healthy and well taken care of. As far as I can tell, he is not sickly, like we so often see when they have been neglected, sheltered for weeks, or running stray.
We were just in Napanee a couple of weeks ago. Glad you are getting co ordinated though. He is sweet. Do you know where the owner got him from in the first place he may have cousins or siblings that want to say good bye before he changes flags! I love red doodles!
Hi Lorraine,
She did post where he came from. When I get home from work, I will look this up and let you know. He will change flags, but I promise to keep his heritage. He will have duel citizenship :) As I mentioned above, I plan on singing ' Oh Canada' to him. PLUG YOUR EARS! He is NOT mine yet. This is up to the current Mom who shall make this final decision. Whatever happens, among all us doodle lovers, he will have a good home. I LOVE RED DOODLES TOO :)
Congrats future Canadian doodle mom!! :) Looks like you've found the help you needed.
Keep us posted on how this works out. It's amazing what is possible though the support of this network.

Email me her contact info, I'll make an inquiry as to the dogs situation to see if I get a straight answer. Likely, they had a change of heart and should have let you know, or have found somebody else, and should have let you know.
Yes, if there is a way you could check on him, that would be so great. I will send you what I have.
I have bonded with this ol boy and I have never met him.

Maybe she thinks anyone who would drive across county to get a 3 year old dog is crazy. She is right. We doodle folks are crazy :) So are the doodles.

Thanks KingstonTodd. You are a very good man.
I was just wondering what happened to the Canadian Doodle you were trying to get. I am so sorry. You were so excited. I hope that the owners did change their minds and did not do anything else with him. They really should of contacted you. Keep us posted if things change.
