Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Well tis the time for naughty Doodles... at least in my house... the tree is up... when I leave and no one is home Cagney has been plucking off the decorations... especially the ones that look like red apples... he tears them apart.. red dye everywhere... and is is not washing off very well... and then he chowed down a favorite ornament ... a hand made wooden chair... toast... and then because there wasn't snow under the tree he decided to rip up the newspaper to shreds and then go in a bag with books for a library donation and shred up those too... hmmmm perhaps this Doodle will get nothing from Santa this year!!!!! Naughty Doodle! Anybody else have X-mas stories to tell?

Too funny!!! Cagney has an attitude... he does not pay any mind to the tree at all during the day when we are home.. it is when he is miffed that we went out without him that he goes into destructo mode......should be interesting to see what I am left with by the end of December.... years ago my golden ret. used to go behind the tree to look out the window and then pull the whole thing down .. over and over.. nice mess....I wish you well!!
My golden used to go behind the tree too to lay down. It came down once too. We then figured out a way to tether the tree to something.
Maybe this has been done before, I can't remember.... Can we do a "trees in jail" slide show? Will we have enough entries?
What a smart idea!!! Your dogs look like jailbirds!! And you kept EVERYONE safe, which is most important. My various labs have knocked over the tree to get to bread dough ornaments, eaten non food ornaments on bottom third of tree, and even opened packages that had food in them that I couldn't smell from relatives. Good luck this year, doodle moms!!! And I love the comment about them being sneaky. My Sandy even took stuff under my daughter's bed to open. I can't wait to hear the stories. Fess up, guys!!!:)
That is sooo funny!!!! Nice story!!!
Our tree is up and the lights are lit, and Willy has not payed much attention to it. But I don't think that will be the case when the decorations go on. He did a pretty good job of shredding some of our Thanksgiving decorations, so I will try and keep everything above "Willy level" and keep the 'treasured' decorations off until next year. I don't understand his obbsesion with anything paper/cardboard. Is this a doodle thing? He'll pass on shoes etc., but don't leave a piece of paper unguarded. LOL
Here too - Tori will pass by food on the coffee table, but run across the room if she spies a paper towel left unguarded on the same table! go figure! Silly doodles!
haha. Timbow loves paper towels too!!
Ya I'm thinking it is a Doodle thing... every book ... newspaper... toilet paper,,,cereal box etc. etc. ends up trashed if Cagney can get a hold of it... odd...... he took more ornaments off the tree again when we had to go out this morning.... he is in Doo Doo now!
Our tree went up last night. It just has the lights on it-no decorations yet. Thomas looks a bit miffed because I had to move "HIS CHAIR" over so I could put the tree in the centre of the bow window. When I got home today-he was up lying in his chair and the tree was untouched. I tied a rope to the tree and anchored it to the floor though-just in case. Last yr-we put up a tree and just decorated the top as Thomas was only 12 weeks old.
