Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have been looking at a lot of the pictures of the pups on here and noticed a lot of them to be very light colored to almost white. Looking at Bunker he looks somewhat darker than the rest of the pups. Will he lighten as he gets older or will he stay more of his lighter red color.

I am just curious as to where he stands on his coloration. The breeders said the litter was a cream litter and we didnt see him until almost 6 weeks old. They have prior pups on their site that are very white. When we picked Bunker they told us they the darker their tips of their ears are thats the color they will usually be. He said that because Bunkers ears were darker he may not lighten too much.

So I guess I am just curious as to what to expect here LOL. Lighter pup or darker pup. Either way i love my little man and can not wait until he comes home on 2 weeks.

I can't comment on that yet (although Cooper's breeder told me he'd get lighter and curlier as he matures). I've heard too, that some doodles get darker with age, while others get lighter. Just depends, I guess. What I can say, though, is that Bunker sure is a darling puppy!
My Kodie was much darker as a puppy! She was a dark butterscotch...and, now she's more of a Cafe..but, I really love her color...it's very unique...
Mickey had a light apricot streak across his spine when he was little. I don't know if he grew out of it or whether the pool bleached him, but he's all white, with a tinge of apricot that shimmers in the sun.
Ringo has lightened a lot. I don't know if him being an aussiedoodle is a factor or if many doods change this much.

This is the same dog?
WOW - this is totally amazing!! It seems impossible that these two pictures are the same pup!!
Here are some "in between" pictures so you can really believe it!

What a beautiful pup!
Thank you Carla. Ironically, I thought he would be a "practical" color but he has turned out to be a color that one would think difficult to keep clean looking....but, it's been pretty easy so far. And of course we'd love him whatever the color! How exciting that you will be getting your doodle soon. The last weeks of the wait are the hardest, I think!!
Oh it has definatly been a wait. I keep think about going to get him this weekend since my husband is off but then I remember why we were waiting and have to bring myself back to reality.
isn't that something!! I see he kept some gray on his ears??
