About Me:
I have Harlee a Goldendoodle from Timshell Farm who is an absolute doll. He is obedience trained, Agility trained, an A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen, Delta Society Therapy Dog.,R.E.A.D. The Reading Program is a great success! I don't know who is enjoying more, Harlee or I. It is very rewarding, the Children are wonderful and Harlee agrees!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Goldendoodle Harlee goes between 85 & 90 lbs. Timshellfarms, Ms.Chloe from MollysDarlingDoodles goes 50 lbs. She is a doll! And also is an A.K.C .Canine Good Citizen, Trained in Agility and really enjoys working.Harlee is loving it! We also have Misty-Minnie & Jiminy-Cricket Harlee & Chloe's buddy cats! Update am now the proud owner of a beautiful little fella Petite Goldendoodle from Timshellfarms Lil' Buddy. Li'l Buddy is also a AKC Canine Good Citizen along with being an Agility dog.Update Miss Fergie will be joining the pack in two weeks. She is a red curly Goldlendoodle from Mollys Darling Doodles. This is it! Full House!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I had a chance to get one at six months as the owner worked and didn't do any training etc. They do need exercise and structure. At the time I had two Standard Schnauzer's and husband on Chemo and no way I could have handled another dog, let alone the training. Needless to say I fell in love with the Bailey a Goldendoodle, after meeting Bailey and I really wanted her. Several years went buy and I was searching internet over that time frame for good goldendoodle breeders. When I came across Timshell Farms and that is the rest of the story.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Swimming, Agility, Biking, and just having them by my side through out the day and evening. They are all my buddies!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
I do!

Bev,
I read your article on grooming a goldendoodle and really enjoyed it.  I have an F1B doodle (cross-back with a retriever).  Because she is crossed back with a retriever, she has more of the wavy hair than poodle hair.  She looks similar to your dog Harley, http://www.goldendoodles.com/Resource/groomingdoods.htm.  My question is that when grooming the body, I have trouble trimming some of her straight hair.  Should I groom the body in all directions with the clippers?  I have read to not go against the grain, but this seems like the only way to "pick up" that hair so that the clippers will cut it.  Any ideas?  I am using a size 30 with 1 inch comb.
Thanks,
Ryan

wonderful pictures of the reading program. Winston is going to go through the Therapy next Fall with our local Humane Society and then we will certify with Delta. I'm really looking forward to taking Winston through the program. I'm not sure which program we will end up in, but they are all great and very rewarding.

Hi Lynda,
I usually go early morning or later as black top does get hot, I have Pad Heal they use for hunting, racing and working dogs. What it does is strengthens and conditions webbing and pads. It makes them flexible and lest prone to injury. Cut - Heal Pad Heal. Also I have leather boots which I have not used yet. I have a bike path that is shaded not far from my home. I guess 3/4 of a mile or so away. I won't take them over 3 miles. And not every day. We alternate with Agility Training, Swimming, Retrieving. Good Luck!

I saw in your profile that you like to bike with your doodles but I looked through your photos and did not see a biking photo. I also bike (mountain bike) with my doodles and they love it, but we have problems with ticks and poison oak. I am trying to get a workable solution but I cannot ride with them on pavement because it injures their pads. Suggestions?

Practice walking him up on treadmill when it is turned off and give him a piece of cooked hot dog! Do this several times and then while he is on turn on very slow while holding treat infront of his nose and holding leash let him walk into you while giving him Hot dogs snacks as is moving and speed up just a little so he is coming towards you.. You don't want him to bolt off by going to fast at first. Once he gets it you won't need hot dogs.
