Downtown today I spotted this dog:
Take a guess what you think before you read on...
I first spotted it across the street and had a moment to ponder things before the light turned. My brain went back and forth with guesses but as I got closer I decided on what it was and approached the owner dude asking "Is that a corded poodle?" He said YES and was super impressed so I told him I thought his dog was the wrong color to be one of the other corded breeds and again he was impressed because apparently nobody ever gets it right!. LOL...what can I say I was really proud of my dog breed nerdiness...or maybe dorkness since nerd assumes I actually KNOW what I'm talking about. Teeheee =)
What was your first and last impression before reading the answer?

Doable! Would you leave the coat a little longer and corded? I now know why they shave these areas..... hard to keep clean. But the feet cord fast because of dew and the dry winter air.
I am not going to cord his tail this year. I love the doodle tail of all fluff. Plus, I think it was an uncomfortable area for him. We want peaceful happy dogs :)
Now that I look closer, this is a very old cording. The ears and tail are the LAST to cord and it takes over a year for the hair on the ears to even begin cords. These are well formed.
Still looks like an ALD to me.
See what you started Adina?
