Omaha had a wine and balloon festival this evening!  It started at 5 and ends at 11!  This was our first time going..didn't know what to expect.  My DH does not like crowds so I knew we weren't going to be there for long.  So, we took Rua to work on interacting in the crowds.

We got there at 5:45PM and left around 7:45.  Rua did pretty well.  If I had a dollar for everytime we were stopped and asked what kind of dog she was or if they could pet her, I could have bought several bottles of wine.

We did get to see some balloons fill and go up.

Rua didn't mind the crowds and the noise.

Very colorful!

As we were leaving, I had DH carry Rua out because if was really getting crowded.

Given Rua was quite visible as we were walking out, many people (women, mostly) would stop DH and talk to him, asking about Rua.

We get in the car and my DH says...."Rua is really a chick-magnet".  I had to laugh.  So now I suppose he'll be wanting to take her on outings.

So, do you have a "chick magnet"?

Oh Yes Dori, I find it very entertaining to walk behind DH and Murphy and watch my otherwise quiet, keep-to-himself husband just grin ear to ear and turn on the proud papa gush whenever someone wants to ask about Murphy. Especially when this someone or someones are female, cute, young or a person who would otherwise most likely just walk right over him if he was on the ground having a siezure, if Murphy wasn't around that is.

They are very much "Chick Magnets" I think. I don't find that to be the other was around though. I haven't had too many guys come up to me to ask about them. Somehow I mostly get the older lady crowd.  Humm, ???

Darwin is totally a chick magnet, and I've told my brother-in-law that if he took Darwin on a walk at our local outdoor mall, he'd get lots of numbers. :-) Every time DH walks him in public he gets lots of women in their high squeaky voices saying "Oh my gosh, what a cute dog! So fluffy!" LOL
Cosmo is definitely a chick-magnet, too. Whenever my DH takes him on a walk or to Lowe's or Home Depot, women of all ages stop him and talk to him about Cosmo. If I happen to be there and walk up to them, they seem so disappointed! *^_^*
Yes, Tara is definitely a chick magnet and DH loves it! The other day he had her at a store and a woman walked up and said "Hi Sweetie!"-addressing Tara. However her husband was one aisle over and could only see my DH and his wife who he though had just called my DH "Sweetie". Well, he came rushing over to of course discover Tara as the object of his wife's affection and not DH!! They all got a good laugh out of it!

Oh that is funny! Good thing the guy kept his cool and came over to check it out before saying anything!

I know!!! It could have gotten really ugly!!
Oh, and Dori those are beautiful pictures. Such wonderful colors! Looks like a fun time!!
YES - definitely!  When we took Bexter to St. Louis over the 4th of July holiday, my DH said the exact same thing!  We would walk Bexter through the fair they had down there with free concerts, fireworks, and everything.  We were stopped a MILLION times to answer questions about Bexter.  Especially girls - probably in their 20's and most likely drunk - would come to pet him.  We even walked past a Hooters restaurant and TWO HOOTERS GIRLS (very attractive girls) came up to pet him & talk to him.  My DH (who is shy) said that before me in his single days he definitely wished he would have had a goldendoodle!  Finding the courage to talk to girls would have been so much easier!  Gee!  I hope my tween aged son didn't hear him say that.  If he suddenly starts taking Bexter for walks everywhere, I'm gonna get suspicious!
Hercules is definitely a chick magnet. Even male chickadees (a/k/a human roosters) are drawn in by him. Most mailmen would run if they saw 80 lbs. of testosterone and fur romping toward them, but mine reach down to greet and pet him. Poor Puppy Zeus was an ugly duckling when I first met him, due to a medical issue, but his hair is gradually growing back and he is looking more and more handsome every day.

By the way, Dori, I am a "chick," and I'm definitely attracted to Rua!  She looks adorable!

People often stop me and ask about the dogs. I love your photos.
There are so many doodle "looks", Camus is a scruffy looking doodle and I people are constantly asking me what kind of dog he is, wanting to pet him, or just commenting -- always favorable. And -- smiles -- lots of smiles.
