Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Rooney and I shared a moment today in which I thought to myself, "This is exactly the sort of image people need to have when making the decision to bring a puppy or dog into their lives."  It occurred to me that all of our terrific DK members could have a great photo discussion around the topic of:

Doodles are wonderful but...

...their creativity can often be countercultural and goes unappreciated by less progressive minds. In short, they can be messy.

How is your Doodle wonderful...but...?

lolol I don't know if I'd call them "helpful"  hehehe

They love mud!  Also, my DH & I are STILL sleeping with a ridiculous cool-looking Lightning McQueen comforter since Bexter has chewed up our good one!  We keep waiting til he is out of that "phase" to buy a real adult comforter again!

A Lightening McQueen comforter!! LOL!! That must have been in the super sale bin for you to grab that one.  I think we might need a photo of the comforter...

And, yes, those are some muddy Doodles.  Yikes!

LOL!

Monty fixed these boots for me, but it was the 100 year old button up shoes that he destroyed that made me cry.

Moms favorite boots 001

The only person who has cried over destroyed property so far in our household is my 7 year old daughter, but it's only a matter of time...

Poor boots...

Rooney, You are still wonderful.....LOL...Love the picture.  Vern is wonderful, but he is a messy boy. He loves to roll on our walks in EVERYTHING. I can't get mad, because he is so joyful when he does it that it makes me laugh. He loves to get dirty. Here he is after he found a muddy pond at the dog park....ONE day after paying to have him groomed.

Fudge is my hunter and digger dog. If she gets on the trail of something, she will not quit. Every time I mow the yard and she knows I am not paying attention, she digs another huge hole.

Plus, she never looks at the camera when I snap her picture :)

That's because Fudge knows her "good side" and she prefers the more candid oh-were-you-taking-a-photo-I-had-no-idea...She's a very demure girl.

Rooney gets his snout in the grass too and will keep going and going.  I'll be sure to let my husband know that he's not the only Doodle putting holes in the lawn.

Oh, boy--with three doodles, I could go on a while--one (Lyric) is too much of a guard dog--racing around the yard with her big bark going full blast whenever anything the least bit suspicious occurs--her son Rio is almost as bad, but stops sooner--he tends to bark at reflections in the windows and other silly stuff though. The third (Mattie) barks to go out, to eat, to get up, etc--she keeps us on schedule! She also eats any food that is left at her level--or is placed on any table outdoors--like the picnic table. (She is a good climber) We have to be careful when leaving food on the table outside in the summer.

Of course all three look for the nearest rug when they are feeling nauseous or have some sort of intestinal difficulty....ew.

Then there is the fact that I have an unspayed breeding female and an intact male (her son) in the same house--that can get very interesting and NO, I have no photos--luckily, he is not interested unless she is in heat. Then we have to board him for a few weeks!! :( This is almost over since Lyric will have her last litter this fall--phew!!

I have to say that they never chew anything but their own stuff, so i am grateful for that.

Oh boy... I could not do the intact male/female thing...That is ONE mess I can avoid!! :)

I don't have pictures of Tura eating Kleenex, her favorite food group, but she did try to learn to crochet when she was a pup.

See! There is that countercultural artistic side again that not everyone understands.  I think this makes a real statement. :)
