I am tired of being condescended to and yelled at by someone I'm paying for a service! Fortunately there are a zillion groomers in the area. I did find a great product called The Stuff at the grooming supply store and got some good new brushes. Self cleaning slicker and one with three rows of rotating teeth in a V.

OH Nooo Troby... hope poor little Sage didnt get shaved~ send her my love
What happened??? They scold you for not brushing well enough? Happened to me too - twice - they insisted I didn't brush her and I most certainly DID. She just got matted in the snow and it was during the time of the coat change. Obviously - they had NO idea of the coat change. I LEFT and never went back to both places. Fortunately now we have a wonderful groomer who really takes her time brushing and getting those matts out before shaving! I'll be interested in hearing how "The Stuff" works!
Yes. Not brushing enough. No shaving Kendra - thank goodness. Except under her arms. I'll let you know how The Stuff is. So far it's wonderful. Good conditioning and very soft. Supposed to keep her cleaner too and that seems to work as well.
My groomer is very tolerant and does just what I want her to. as the little red hen said "Then I'll do it myself" and I do.
I so hate it when people in the service industry forget who is the customer. My groomers are so awesome to me and to Guinness...no need to put up with this treatment.
I once had a groomer who yelled at me because we let our dog (wheaton terrior) swim in the bay at our cottage. I had a bad feeling when I left him with her and when I picked him up-he was shaved to the bone. I was so angry and told her we would never allow her to touch our dog again. ANYONE can just shave a dog down, but a good groomer will at least TRY to save their coat. Good luck with the grooming.
TRUE!
We have a wonderful groomer who tries really hard to de-mat and scissor cut Ned. Her partner would have shaved him at 6 months and many times after that! She is getting a Doodle calendar for Christmas so that she can admire her handiwork (September) and use it as examples of lots of doodles with different coats.
What a great idea!!! Give them a doodle calendar! I'll have to order one for my groomer! Hope I get it in time! Thanks!
We took Darwin to the groomer a month or so ago, just to have a bath/brush. I assumed they wouldn't cut anything, because it was a simple bath and brush, but gave specific instructions anyways. When we got him back she had shaved the bridge of his nose and scissored the top of his head so it looked like a helmet. We told her NOT to cut anything but the paws and sanitary area, and specifically said DON'T CHANGE HIS FACE. argggh! We are not going back to that groomer. I already ordered a clipper set so I can do it on my own.
Yeah - what's with shaving the top of their nose??? I can see just clipping around their eyes - but I kinda' like that shaggy look too - but guess she does need to see - lol. And for that helmet look?! - I can definitely see THAT - poor Tori had that done to her too once or twice. She going today - this groomer's great!!! Just debating whether to tell her to cut down her "beard" or not tho'... She told me when I called that she was moving - I nearly DIED!, but it's only across the street - Whew!

I did that too--gave the groomer a Doodle calendar, and then a whole bunch of pictures of doodles, pictures of Trav, a copy of one of the doodle grooming essays, etc.  I think I went overboard...lol
