I just brought Hurley home :) he is whining and crying laying next to me...he will stop when I put my hands on him then he will fall asleep.....
The surgery went well. Dr. Marti said that Hurleys left eye is lower than his right eye. He said that there was too much access skin that was brought down during surgery, he said that next month, when Hurley goes in for his next surgery he will lift up the skin from his left eye.
Hurley looks better than yesterday I think...I know this is going to be a challenge. He was already fighting me at the office to get the cone off him. We can't risk him getting to these stiches. He will have them removed in about 10 days.
Hurley is on painkillers and sedatives along with his antibotics. I am hoping with these he will remain calm and not go crazy with the cone on his head.
I am so happy he is home and that the cysts between his eyes are gone!! No more rupturing and oozing from them again!! Now,I am going to get my beautiful boy healed up and with all the prayers all over the world for him I just know he is going to heal quickly!!!
This was the biggest out of the two surgeries. The next one next month won't be like this surgery was. He will have the cysts removed on top and have the skin lifted above his left eye...
We are going to get through this....one day at a time....!!
Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, advice, donations and love for Hurley...
You have helped to save my dog......

Thank you!!

poor baby.  Better days ahead!  Not to worry, its gonna be fine.

I am so glad he is home. I know from experience how fast they bounce back. You will carry the scars much longer than Hurley. God bless you both. My prayers are with you. Hugs

So happy to know that he is home with you.  I also thought the pic looked better than I was expecting.  They didn't get clipper happy with the areas they didn't need to shave so he still has a little of his shaggy look.  The worst is over and now just for the recovery part.  Hope that goes well and he can relax and rest.  Lots of hugs and doodlekisses.

Regina - as I said on FB - Hurley reminds of Sylvester Stallone from the Rocky movies - feeling stronger  . . .    It is all uphill from here - the worst has been done.  They'll lift his eye and when the fur grows back you'll never see the scars.  He is still BEAUTIFUL!!!!  And so are you  {{{{Hugs}}}}

I'm glad Hurley is home with you.  As for the cone, Haley had to wear one a couple of years ago when he had stomach surgery.  At first he fought it like it was the devil but after awhile he accepted it.  Hopefully Hurley will too.  Positive thoughts for quick healing for Hurley.

So glad he is home and it is over for now....just keep him in that collar, it is so important that he can't get to the surgical areas...Hang in there, it will get better in a few days....so glad he is home with you....and just to note, when Olive had to wear the sone, he literally screamed.  He scared me to death. But he did get used to it, it took a little while, and now when he has a boo boo tht I don't want him go near, he wears the cone, he is fine with it, he learned to eat and drink and sleep with it....

He looks great and the incision will heal quickly. I am a big fan of prescribed pain meds, given as directed, and since they can't tell us how it aches or hurts, I just assume it does and keep them steadily medicated. And looking at that incision, I know if it was on my head, I'd be one hurtin pup.

So happy Hurley is home!  Poor guy, those hard cones of shame are such a pain, but the time will go by so quickly.

Glad to see Hurley is home! I know that he hates the cone, but day by day he will get use to it. Whenever one of ours had to wear one I would take the cone off and sit with them for awhile and give them a good rub all around their neck and face. The rubbing seemed to feel good to them. Then when I put the cone back on, they acted like it wasn't bothering them as bad. I'm sure the cone makes them iche. Hope all of you have a good nights rest and I will be praying for a quick recovery. Please keep that cone on him if you are not with him and watching him. You might not want to take it off until the swelling goes down. It may hurt going over his head.

So glad Hurley is back home with his family! That should help the healing process along! He looks a little rough right now but every day is going to be better and better!

Wow--that is some scar--glad he will have hair over it some day! he is going to be FINE!!! YEAH!!!

Oh my goodness, bless your hearts.  The first five days or so are going to be looonngggg..... as he heals.  Hang in there and crate him if needed.  Mostly he just needs to sleep to heal.
