I got my puppy and what a month!!!

Hi everyone - I got my puppy four weeks ago and just updated my profile!  We decided to name our dog "Myla".  I hope  you don't mind "Jennifer, Chloe and Myla" but when you told me you named your puppy Myla and it stood for My Little Angel  I couldn't get it out of my mind!  I loved it!  I didn't tell you all but 2011 was a horrible year for me.  My Dad died in January and then my Zakita (our five year old black goldendoodle) died in August.  I was so depressed and then after Christmas I decided that I had to get out of my "blue zone" and decided that another goldendoodle would help me!  When I joined Doodle Kisses I was looking at names and as I said "Myla" was it - especially since there had been a lot of discussions with my 2 year old grandaughter about - great grandpa and Zak in heaven and with angels - it was perfect - THANK YOU so much Jennifer!

 

Anyway, we picked up Myla in Spokane and camped a couple nights with her in the motorhome (which was so much fun) and then came home and two days later my 90 year old FIL had a heart attack and I needed a babysitter for my puppy!  Luckily my Mom came to the rescue (aren't Moms great!!!) but it's been a hectic month!  Poor Myla has totally been "socialized"!  We even snuck her in emergency to visit my FIL (the nurses LOVED her).  My FIL has gone home and Myla has been going to the senior residence lots and is so good with everyone!  She goes right up to the people in wheelchairs and all the people in the TV room!  I was worried about her sharp teeth but she only uses them on younger people LOL. 

 

We are finally getting into a routine at home and she is so good - we are still working on the potty training and she loves to chew but she is sooo loving and adorable!  My grandson and I had to take her into Zellers and we put her in a shopping cart and my grandson was tellling everyone that you could get one (a goldendoodle) in aisle 5!

 

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that we DID get our puppy and I will try to figure out how to post pictures and put some up!

Wendy, thanks so much for the update.  Myla certainly sounds like the perfect pup for you.  I am sure she will fill you with love and you will make many happy memories with her.  I am looking forward to pics as she grows up.

What a great discussion to post! I am so glad you got Myla to help heal some of your pain. She isn't replacing anyone, but it is so good to focus love on a little doodle puppy. It sounds like she is very special.
