Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Just pick up a new 11 weeks old goldendoodle from airport last nite. She is very insecure and shy right now. She want to stay in her crate most of the times and not even want to go outside to her business. I have tried a few different treats but she not really going crazy for any of it. What can I do to encourage her and make her do her business outside, Any tips?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks all for all the advice. She's doing much better this afternoon, still not very interested in any treat.
I have been reading a lot since I decided to get a puppy, I am just caught off guard when she's not interested in any treat because it make it harder to tell her when she listens.
She's going to the Vet tomorrow and should I give her a bath tonite or should I wait couple more days?
I agree! I am raising 5 puppies right now and at three weeks old they are always together and happy. I can't help thinking how upset they will be when separated from their littermates. I get to see them relaxed and playful...but I am sure the new owners will have to wait a few days to a week to see that. They do adjust quickly though and she will get better every day.
I also have a neighbor with a goldendoodle that hates all the cookies my guys wolf down. She is very fussy! This is by no means because she is a goldendoodle--it is just her way. Not sure why, but some dogs have particular tastes.
She is doing so much better.
I think I am worry about too much about the alpha dog thing at the beginning. I am still practice all that but mix in with more hugs. I can see her start accepting me as her "mommy" and lead dog. Other than 1 accident this morning which I consider is my fault mainly, she is doing very good at potty training. She will bark and get my attention from the crate when she want to relief herself and when I take her outside now, it only take less than 2 mins for her to find her spot and do her business. Cheer!! I still wish I can teach her to use her toilet eventually.
I also found a treat that she like from petco, Bil Jac (chicken liver for small dog). I will give her a bath tonite to clean her up and make her smell good.
She weight 8.2 lbs now and she looks like she might be 20-30 lbs full grown.
Thanks again for all the support and great advice.
